There are two vaccine preventable cancers, HPV associated cancers of cervix, anus and throat; and Hepatitis associated liver cancer. It is sad that both these major public health interventions are being attacked.

Axios reported, "At least five states have already legalized ivermectin sales without a prescription: Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, Idaho and Louisiana. Republican Utah state Rep. Trevor Lee introduced a bill in his state, telling Axios it would expand medical freedom and align with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s "Make America Healthy Again" agenda."

The NYT reported, "In central Cameroon, every year since 1994, community health workers had gone door to door to treat every person with a dose of the antiparasitic drug ivermectin — enough to kill all the worms and all the larvae. The drug distribution relied on about $115 million a year from the United States Agency for International Development, which the Trump administration has shut down." I am concerned that the supply of Ivermectin may be insufficient to meet demand.

Senators Warren, Markey, Blumenthal, and Alsobrooks sent Kennedy a letter this week about his ties to Wisner Baum, the law firm suing Merck over the HPV vaccine Gardasil. It’s important to note that Kennedy had been referring vaccine injury cases to the firm since at least 2018 and was entitled to a 10% cut of any successful judgments. After pushback, he signed that financial stake over to his son, who works at the same firm. Meanwhile, Kennedy has refused to recuse himself from HHS decisions involving the vaccine. And multiple Kennedy allies who are now shaping vaccine injury policy had active cases pending before the very program they’re redesigning."

Mother Jones published a couple of articles on the measles outbreak in Samoa. The origin of the problem was that "...two children in Samoa had died in 2018 after a nurse accidentally mixed expired muscle relaxant into their shots instead of sterile water, after which the country briefly placed its vaccine program on hold." IIRC the color of the label on the muscle relaxant was the same as the color of the label on the bottle of sterile water.
