The Trump/Putin summit predictions thread

Fox is choking. First they called the press conference "interesting". They went into a bit of criticism, a lot of apologizing (excusing) and now they are turning on Brennan because his Tweet calling it "treasonous" went too far.

Anderson Cooper said it was the most disgraceful thing he's ever seen. This is not going well for Trump but it does show how smart Mueller was for releasing the last batch of indictments when he did.

Oh, I'm sure there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with Russian agents conducting a US investigation into Clinton's emails.

This is unbelievable. Trump is destroying in days what it took brilliant people years to accomplish. The republican party has to admit he represents no one but himself and impeach his ass. No one who understands what is happening in American politics today or history in general can even choose to be blind today to Trump. He even hates a free press.

How can such a villain rule so long?

I don't see the downside from the GOP's point of view. He's a great distraction as they get on with the business of dismantling the ACA, getting tax breaks, removing environmental protections and so on.

The downside is the fallout after this **** show ends. They must know this will not end well.

Well 40% still support President Trump. A combination of enthusiastic gerrymandering and voter suppression supported by a compliant SCOTUS and the idiosyncrasies of the electoral college can mean a firm hand on the tiller for the foreseeable future with support like that. The GOP will have 2 of the 3 branches sewn up and a better than even chance with the third. :(

Trump said 'no collusion' the probe is ridiculous.

Amazing electoral college win, the college favoured the Dems but he still won.
No collusion, he ran a brilliant campaign, no collusion. FBI lies.

Where is the Server? Why didn't the FBI take the server?
Where is the server of the Pakistani man on the DNC?
Where are Hilary's Emails.
He says in Russia they wouldn't be gone, it's a total disgrace.
Putin told him it wasn't him that interfered.
Putin has offered to send him his own investigators to help.

Recent testimony by Peter Strzok was a disgrace to the FBI and a disgrace to the USA. It's a Witch Hunt.

Then it was over.

It was like a live version of his tweets.
Meanwhile, Putin is thinking: Easy, boyfriend, you’re laying it on a little thick.

Welp... it's official.

I'm gobsmacked.

A president (I use that term lightly) of the United States of America just chose to stab his own country in the back while down on his knees servicing the manhood of a Russian president.

It's one thing to be diplomatic and attempt to offer an olive branch to an adversary. But it's something completely different to do so at the expense of one's own country, it's intelligence agencies, it's legal processes and investigations, freedom of the press, it's allied global partners, and to add insult to injury... the men and women who have serviced their country for years in the name of democracy, national security, and liberty to all.

I. Am. Fricken. Gobsmacked.

Surely this is the point of no return for Republicans. President of the US publicly capitulating to Russia. If there is any last ounces of patriotic duty left in Republican congress members, now is the time for it to come out. Trump is unfit to serve and must go.

John O. Brennan Ex CIA Director tweets

"Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of “high crimes & misdemeanours.” It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???"

Better be careful, or someone may accuse you of being a homophobe* ...:boggled:   ;)

* Though to be fair, ALL of the comments posted to that article seem to be variants of "its writer is full of :seangry:"...:D

Obama/Deep State stooge says mean things about the bestest President evah.

Don't you know, this is Trump's clever negotiating, we just have to have faith. He's a genius.

Some of the pundits on Fox are trying hard to go with that. CNN and MSNBC have funeral music playing.

I think we'll remember this as the weekend that the Trump presidency truly went totally off the rails (I mean it has been since day 1 really).

But, when Jeff Flake tweets:

"I never thought I would see the day when our American President would stand on the stage with the Russian President and place blame on the United States for Russian aggression. This is shameful."

Maybe the GoP will finally turn on Trump??
