Here we're having an election....sometime soon, no really, we mean it this time, soon. And the federal government (who will be running for re-election) have just agreed to dole out about 40 billion baht (one point something US billion) to the folks in the Issan regions.

Even the muzzled Thai press is calling it what it is, politics as usual and vote-buying.

We should model ourselves after Amerika. Here, you vote for us then when I screw you out of your income we'll cover you for your losses. I wonder if he's going to do the same for jobs in the service or hi-tech sectors located in Blue States, or if this is just payback for voting for him? (That's a rhetorical question.)

I picked that up; I'm asking where the altered versions of the transcript and/or video can be found.

The White House web site. This is the relevant section of the official transcript:

....So we have a solid reason to believe that some intelligence officers accompanied and guided these transactions. So we have an interest of questioning them. That could be a first step, and we can also extend it. Options abound, and they all can be found in an appropriate legal framework.

Q And did you direct any of your officials to help him do that? [note first part of question omitted.]

PRESIDENT PUTIN: (As interpreted.) Yes, I did. Yes, I did. Because he talked about bringing the U.S.-Russia relationship back to normal.

Please link to the edited transcript and video.
Thanks Bob, for answering this.

I'm not surprised you wanted evidence Checkmite. It's *********** unbelievable these idiots would do that given how many people saw the original press conference and how many copies of the original would be easily available online.

It's a sad commentary on the state of the collective mind.

Trump's personal lawyer secretly recorded their conversations. One of his current lawyers claims the audio is not damning but exculpatory. These are people tasked with defending the interests of Donald Trump. Think about that. Now consider who the hell he'd choose to oversee the bureaucracy and judiciary.

Putin must be laughing himself sick every time he thinks about how well he's played Trump, and the US in general.
I continually resist this narrative, which also has been proposed in other threads. He may well be pleased; I don't know. Internal U.S. politics is not IMO his biggest concern. Even if his primary goal is to manipulate the U.S., the unpredictably is not necessarily an unmitigated upside for him.

Just wait until that $30 billion runs out and the government has to start dipping into everything else to keep all the other industries afloat that will also be impacted by Trump's trade war.

Please the only industries republicans care about are steel, coal and farming, they never cared at all about manufacturing.

Trump Tweets

"So sad and unfair that the FCC wouldn’t approve the Sinclair Broadcast merger with Tribune. This would have been a great and much needed Conservative voice for and of the People. Liberal Fake News NBC and Comcast gets approved, much bigger, but not Sinclair. Disgraceful!"

Trump Tweets

"Every time I see a weak politician asking to stop Trade talks or the use of Tariffs to counter unfair Tariffs, I wonder, what can they be thinking? Are we just going to continue and let our farmers and country get ripped off? Lost $817 Billion on Trade last year. No weakness!"

"When you have people snipping at your heels during a negotiation, it will only take longer to make a deal, and the deal will never be as good as it could have been with unity. Negotiations are going really well, be cool. The end result will be worth it!"

"China is targeting our farmers, who they know I love & respect, as a way of getting me to continue allowing them to take advantage of the U.S. They are being vicious in what will be their failed attempt. We were being nice - until now! China made $517 Billion on us last year."

So Trump is ready, willing, and able to drop all government subsidies to US industries such as:

- agriculture
- oil
- aerospace
- auto
- steel
- coal
- textiles
- drugs and medical equipment
- military weapons and equipment

... and a whole slew of other industries that receive government subsidies and handouts.

Really ?

The US is prepared to do that ?

Yeah...so next time we elect a "businessman" president, can we pick one who worked in one of these industries that drives our economy? Clearly, playing in the sandbox that us the hotel business is not adequate preparation.

We know that foreign companies abroad are looking for other sources than America to buy their goods. This has long term ramifications as any salesperson will tell you that it is 10 times harder to acquire a new customer as it is to retain an old customer.

Especially when that career is less than stellar, where the business is now largely a name licencing business and where the source of finance for that business is mysterious to say the least.
