I would say that it's not outside the realm of plausibility, given the current limited information at hand, that the break in was done in hopes of finding blackmail to get Cummings to back off the subpoenas for relevant communications using private accounts by, for example, Kushner and Ivanka, that were not forwarded to government accounts within the legal time limit. After failure, then the rage tweets would have begun.

Again, I would definitely not bet money that that actually did happen, but with this group in office, I would be completely unsurprised if it did. Hence, I still stand behind suspicious, but definitely not something to go further with without hard evidence.

Cummings was home when the break-in happened. He says he scared the person away before he got into the house area. He says nothing was taken.

You think someone hired to break into a high-profile politician's home to look for blackmail material would do it while the man is home? And that the information would be used in tweets by Trump just hours later?

It is definitely "outside the realm of plausibility". It's some deep conspiracy thinking.

Even after evidence is provided that shoots down the inside-job idea, that thought still lingers. It's okay we all do it here.

It's ironic that the more people point out how stupid something is it has the direct effect of convincing me more that Trump was involved.

That guy can screw up anything.
 
Only bad thing about Ratcliff's withdrawal was I was getting ready to make some jokes about how Richard the Third also had a henchman named Ratcliff, and look how it ended for him.

A detail that was not in the articles that I read. That detail does make it less likely, but doesn't rule it out. This is Trump and co, after all.

To put it politely, Trump and his associates are largely not known for their competence. Rather, they're frequently known for much the opposite.

What? No. I'm not sure what strange distortion of what I said you ended up with, but nothing I said involves using anything about the break in or blackmail in tweets shortly after.

What evidence are you talking about, specifically? Nothing has been presented that would actually "shoot it down," before getting to the simple fact that multiple attacks on the same person in a short period of time will just about always be "suspicious," especially when the attacks are on a person who just pissed off a guy with power. Even moreso when that particular guy in power has quite the documented history when it comes to being quite willing to abuse his power in not particularly legal ways. Conclusions that such happened this time would certainly be premature, yes, but suspicion is quite warranted.

Mmm. There may be a point in a point in a reminder about how Trump sent his people to take the medical records (in a way described as a raid) from his former doctor completely, likely breaking HIPAA laws, after the doctor spoke of prescribing hair-related medicine?

Dr Harold Bornstein told NBC News that Mr Trump's personal bodyguard, a Trump administration employee, and one other man turned up at his office last February to take the president's medical records. The 25- to 30-minutes process left him feeling "raped, frightened and sad," he said.

Mr Bornstein said the men did not give him a form authorising the release of the documents they took, which included the original and only copy of Mr Trump's charts. They also asked him to take down a picture he had taken with the president.

So, he wants to add a little bit to funding for children's cancer research, then cut even more from general cancer research.

Ratcliffe had the ONLY qualification that Donnie Johnny cares about - Loyalty to God Emperor Trump. His audition tape from the Mueller hearings is all Trump needed to see. Vetting? He didn't care. All he cares about is Barr-style willingness to carry the bosses jock strap out onto the field of battle.

This is how we got Pompeo, after all. Another in the long list of loyalists who were singularly inexperienced for the posts they were given.

Interesting but Non News.

Citrus County has a population of 145,000! Perfect Red District demographics, but equally perfect away-from-all-civilization Trump Country. The Trump Club probably consists of the local chamber of commerce guy and a real estate office owner and are hoping Donnie Johnny notices them and drops a new golf course on them.

Largest city is the teeming metropolis Homasossa Springs at 13,000 head count. About half the county are senior citizens, 96% of them are white, and the half that ain't seniors are caring for seniors. There special local license plate should read, "Hey, We Got Five Libaries Now".
