The Solution to the Palestine Problem

Well, considering the Mufti, Arafat, Hamas, etc., I think that yes, the fear that the Palestinians want to kill me (not every single one, but the Palestinians as a group) is, I think, not at all unjustified.

Seems rather like a self-evident truth, if you only bother to read, say, the Palestinian charter or the declarations of the Palestinian leadership or the shows on Palestinian television or the textbooks in Palestinian schoolrooms or...

...well, you get the idea.

So I fail to see why my prediction is unreasonable: why would Hamas, strongly supported by the Palestinians as a whole, show any more mercy to the Jews in America than the Mufti, supported by the Palestinians as a whole, did to the Jews in Europe?

P.S.

As for the "it is safer for the Jews to live elsewhere" argument against the existence of Israel -- that is morally equivalent that "it is safer for Blacks to live elsewhere" as an argument for all-white neighborhoods, or "it is safer for her not to complain" as an argument against prosecuting wife-beaters.

The Israelis already tried to export the Gaza problem. You will recall that when the wall with Egypt came down the Israelis were not pressuring to rebuild. They would have been thrilled to let the Egyptians take over responsibility for this hive of bees.

It would seem to me that allowing the Palestinians who wish to escape the violence and live in peace in the west to emigrate would only further radicalize the remaining population. Those that leave, however, are unlikely to become unsympathetic to their family members staying at home. This would create a Palestinian diaspora that can maintain a failed Gaza state much as the Cuban diaspora has sustained Cuba through the billions that gets sent to family members from overseas. Although here the people would not necessarily be leaving because of opposition to the ruling power, only for economic advantage. So perhaps the support for the IRA by Irish-Americans would be a more analogous situation.

Although this may improve the lot of the Palestinian people, and seems to have been presented as a challenge to the West--you created the problem, you fix it--I don't see it making life any easier for Israel. It makes it even more difficult, in fact.
