The sinking of MS Estonia: Case Reopened Part VII

Most of us are able to discern that "wave-induced impact loads" does not refer to fatigue caused by one single wave, and that the metallic bang shortly before 1am only indicates the time the lock finally failed and does not mean it was in good condition up to that moment.

So, no, those quotations from the report do not tell us the JAIC think the bow door failed because of "a strong wave".

Asked and answered.

The JAIC report identified evidence of prolonged, repeated wave loading. @Vixen's translation of that into the notion that a single "strong wave" caused the failure is simply wrong. In her first quote @Vixen cherry-picks the testimony. In her second quote, the statement mentions wave loading, but does not identify the loading as having come from a single "strong wave." The engineering assessment is—and has always been—that cumulative wave loading caused the visor failure.

Chapter 21 CONCLUSIONS

Nope, neither of those say that the "MV Estonia sank because of 'a strong wave' hitting the bow."

Please either support your claim, or withdraw it and never make it again.

Yes, but that explains the sinking without invoking any of Vixen's conspiracy theories, so she has to erect a strawman of the JAIC's conclusions.
