TruthSeeker1234 hasn't made any gaffes quite of Killtown's magnitude yet, though he was good enough to bring one of his sources to play (the redoubtable Craig Furlong), who promptly got hammered and quickly disengaged.

I'm looking at the long game. We will never have a capitulation from these sparring matches, but it gives us ample opportunity to understand the competition. In every case, their posting here has not helped their position, and eroded it a little. And at this point I am supremely confident that if any of this ever goes to court (McClatchey vs. Killtown comes to mind), the Loosers are going to get annihiliated.

That's good enough for me.

No, his remarks in the other thread are not an indication of a definite plan to return. Still, I have a feeling he'll return on his own, pretending his feigned outrage at Loss Leader never happened. But time will tell. The clock is ticking!

It amuses me to see TruthSeeker1234 going on about how Loss Leader "advised him to break State and Federal laws" -- as if he was TruthSeeker1234's legal counsel or something, giving advice that he'd paid for -- whereas the Troothers often advocating nothing less than bloody and violent revolution... yet no complaint there.
 
Well, here it is, the 35th of November, and I'm sure we're all shocked to learn that Truthseeker1234 has failed to return to our fair shores.

So, on that note, I'm offically admitting defeat in my bet with R.Mackey.

In accordance with the rules:

7. If no investigation is needed, or upon completion of the investigation period, the loser will transfer $100 to the James Randi Educational Foundation within ten (10) business days of the bet's conclusion.

8. The loser of the bet will confirm payment through PM to the winner of the bet along with a post in this thread, containing sufficient receipt details to verify the transaction.

9. The winner of the bet may seek further verification from JREF at his or her discretion.

I've submitted a donation of $100 to the JREF via their online donation system, and have forwarded to R.Mackey a copy of the online receipt. I expect in due time he will confirm these details.



I knew this bet was an almost certain loss for me when I took it, but I took it because I felt it was important for us here at JREF to show the CTists that we're not all just talk and bluster. I wanted to show them that we're willing to put our money where our mouths are, even if they aren't.

So now I'm throwing open a challenge to all the other debunkers out there: Make a donation to JREF, or some other skeptical organization, on behalf of our CT friends. Let them know that we're not just going to sit around while they spread their insipid lies, let them know we're willing to actively support the organizations that are showing their lies for what they are.

So, I ask you all to make a donation, large or small, and then post a note here, so they can see for themselves how serious we are.
 
It's too bad I missed this jewel of a thread. I would have gladly accepted the challenge. I should mention, however that the prize for debate tactic is very common in CT circles. Holocaust deniers are always trumpeting the fact that their 10,000 dollar offer to debate a historian has never been accepted, despite documented proof over at www.nizkor.org to the contrary.

It's all fluff and rhetoric.

Sorry, the offer has closed. You had from the 23rd of September on to yesterday to respond to R.Mackey's offer, and you made not a single response. Note that I said I would have accepted the offer had I known about it, but I made no formal declaration.

He started changing the conditions of the debate whenever it looked like someone was actually going to take him up on it. Shocking, I know, but there it is.

Gravy's counter offer was countered with the suggestion for the live TV debate, which of course wasn't at all what Gravy had in mind. Shocking, I know, but there it is.

After that, TS went off into Star Wars Beam Weapon Land, and it all went downhill from there.

You're confusing two different challenges. TS1234 posted a challenge to debate him here. After a bit of waffling on the part of TS1234, R.Mackey posted this thread, with the bet that TS1234 would never actually go through with his debate, and that's the bet I took, expecting I would loose, but wanting to make it interesting.

Now that TS1234 has (somehow) seen that you might have been interested, he's popped out of his hole to try and entice you in. Good luck with that. I'd suggest a brief review of some of TS1234's threads here to see what you'd be up against, if you decided to take him up on his offer.

If you do take the challenge, I'm sure all of us here would love to see what happens.
