The R.Mackey $100 Bet

So... any takers? If not, I fully understand.

Perhaps, but only if you're willing to include a proviso about (a) flying pigs, (b) blue moons, and (c) Scotland winning the World Cup (rugby or football, I'm not fussed).

:D

So, he seems to be completely changing the tems of the debate now. Let's hope he doesn't get away with it.

It's even more bizarre than I would have guessed... He's still talking about his $1000, though, so there's still hope.

I think he's stalling until he can get an advance on his allowance.

He seems to have latched onto this as his great chance at fame. We could be a footnote! Hurrah!

Well, he's been suspended....Not quite a ban, but there's a good chance he won't come back afterwards. Mark your calendars!

What will he be doing for a whole week? We should put out a kook watch for other skeptic sites. If he doesn't have JREF to troll, will he explode? :D

Alternately, with seven days off, he'll probably write the CT version of War and Peace, four more articles on Libertarian Economics, and solve the situation in Darfur.

He will spend the first day or two writing a lengthy monologue detailing how in spite of his numerous attempts at meaningful discussion, the forum members of the JREF were unable or unwiling to answer his questions. They were too afraid to debate him, it seems! His very presense made them uneasy, so as soon as one of the mods could find an excuse, he was suspended.

He will then post it on every CT website and discussion forum he can find.

I wonder if there are any CT believing lurkers reading this board? I'm sure there must be a few. I would love to hear their opinions on TruthSeeker1234. Was he doing a good job, do you think? Was he unfairly treated? Were his arguments strong and compelling? Does it matter that he ignored about 90% of the rebuttals? Just asking questions.

I´m reading both sides and i don´t care about anyone beside the logical truth but i think it was a hard decision beside closing the thread - wich was fair, especially after the warning with explanation....

Time to mobilize the ninjas? I know there are a lot of folks who actively participate and lurk on other boards. I've scrolled through LC for the past month and don't see anyone with the same name, so I'm reckoning if he's a regular anywhere it's under another name...... What about Scholars for 911? Seems to be his favored cite. Do they have a forum?

Fixed. ;)

For the love of peanuts... what are they scared of?!?!

At a guess, I would say "other brands of conspiracy theorists polluting the discussion." Imagine a crew like Christophera, Killtown, and Roxdog over there, proud to count themselves among the "Scholars."

They can hold a private forum if they want, it's a free country. They've given us plenty of material in the form of their many whitepapers. Although after shredding the Ross / Furlong paper, I'm not sure there is much to distinguish them from the ordinary CT rabble.

I've ran into quite a few of the "Scholars". They are just as bad or worse than the typical CT'er. From my encounters few members have read the NIST report. They are very sheltered people.
They also have a closed guest forum, for more radical people. Like no-planers. It used to be at the ancient lost treasures forum.

However you can still see "scholars" talk about other subjects.
Here's Steven Jones is talking about UFO "Flying Triangles".
Yep. I kid you not.

Well, BS4567 seems to be back, with no mention of his debate challenge. Maybe we should have a poll on if this counts as withdrawing the challenge?

This is like a bad drug deal, wait around forever, lot's of hype, no deliver!
Atleast I read that once...

4. The person accepting my bet loses the bet if TruthSeeker1234 retracts his offer, informs us of his desire to no longer post here, is banned prior to the events in term 3. above taking place, or does not visit the forums for fifteen (15) days without first indicating that he will do so (e.g. a vacation).

5. Should either condition take place, it will be announced in this thread, along with supporting evidence conforming to the conditions above.

6. If further investigation is needed to confirm the bet is indeed concluded, it will be challenged and resolved in this thread, within five (5) days of the announcement. Any still unresolved issues will be dropped, and the original announcement considered as true, if the investigation is inconclusive.

So, I was reviewing the details of our bet. Does TS1234's post in this thread constitute a "desire to no longer post here"?

In any case, he hasn't been on since 20th November 2006, so if he stays away until 35th Nov. 2006, that's 15 days, right? I'm going to assume that walking away in snit because Loss Leader was mean to him doesn't count as a vacation.

35th Nov.? Somethings not right there......:D
