The thread is talking about trolls in JREF. Your overrriding point about family members has no bearing on the conversation because none have come in here and acted like trolls.

The ones WHO HAVE BEEN COMING HERE RECENTLY, ESPECIALLY THE LAST FEW DAYS have been bringing nothing but old news that could have been answered with a quick search and have been downright confrontational about it... which seems to be the direction your misguided, paranoid, and unbelievably stupid movement is heading.

I believe your response is called "moving the goalposts." There's no reason to call victims' family members JREF trolls here because none have trolled here. So to say we're making the terms "twoofer" and "troll" synonymous and it's an insult to family members makes no sense...

Odd. I was getting an exactly opposite feeling, that the percent of non-9/11 threads was increasing. Expelled, Occupation Mirage, Amero, Fall of the Dollar.

I can't even recall the last time, if ever, there were 4 non-9/11 threads on page 1 since CT was created as a separate forum.

I was looking for a place to suggest a graph of 9/11 vs. non-9/11 posts on page 1 over time to see if there's truly a trend.

None of the major claims of the 9/11 Truth Movement have been debunked. NIST doesn't even have a full explanation for the collapse of WTC1,2 and 7 yet. When "debunkers" say that something has been "debunked", it means that they made up an answer to shut down inquiry into 9/11.

Yes they have. Every single 'truther' belief has a perfectly rational, plausible and logical explanation which does not involve lots of little NWO drones rushing around executing a false flag op, and then forgetting all about it afterwards.

'Truthers' can't even prove that the collapse of the wtc towers through impact and fire damage was impossible.

I suggested a long time ago that the swarming behavior that goes on whenever a new "Truther" posts a thread is unproductive, confusing, and impolite to anyone legitimately interested in answers to their questions. Granted, those folks are few and far between, but they do pop up now and then. I still recommend that individual topics be assigned to a small team. Topics regarding air defenses might best be handled by Gumboot, while topics on planes themselves go to Beachnut and AMTMan. Note: I am not suggesting that the mods handle this, I am suggesting something voluntary, and people could also volunteer to be part of a specific team. There is absolutely no reason why a thread started yesterday on the ridiculous Amero now has 65 replies. Yes, many of the replies are good and substantive, but inevitably the OP can only respond to a few of them, and so the peanut gallery ends up exchanging comments. Many of our threads contain excellent work and valuable information, but sifting through the chaff takes time.

This is an example of a typical "baiting" post, designed to provoke anger. It uses absolutes (such as "none") which is a dead give away.

Unfortunately, a debunker also did something similar in this very thread, saying that ALL (another absolute) of the CTs are untrue.

I would state more correctly, that none of the CTs appear to have enough evidence to prove them true.

I would say their is a small body of evidence to indicate further areas require investigation, such as the role of Pakistani Intelligence in 9/11. I am not sure it would change anything, but it is an area that I do not personally think has been fully vetted.

Not only do I agree with this suggestion, but prior to it, I have at times done so anyway. If I enter a thread, and see legitimate questions on NORAD, for instance, I will tell the questioner to search the site for threads/posts by gumboot. I will also refer them to Gravy's sites prior to responding.

Unfortunately, as of late, the Crap:Genuine ratio has been about 10:1.

Yeah I almost called him out on that but couldn't decide if it was meant as sarcasm. If it wasn't, as skeptics we should know better since it produces the same sort of confirmation bias that keeps the other side from looking at ANY evidence objectively.

My general rule is to treat everything as a legitimate question until they become confrontational, and then all bets are off (within the limits of the rules. I've never even gotten a yellow card here :cool: ).

Sadly, several of the more recent new member threads draw the line in the sand right in their OP.

My public school experience taught me that they don't. They just try harder and harder to provoke a reaction out of their targer until they finally do... which is basically what truthists have been doing for years now.

I see your point, but I would suggest that it's really not that much of a leap from "no evidence to prove it true" to "false".

And, yes, I dislike absolutes as much as the next fellow, but in my two years here I have never seen any theory proposed by a Truther that stood up to serious scrutiny.

I remain open to considering new evidence on its merits; however, evidence for Truther claims has been pretty scarce here of late.
