The Obama Deception

This phony Lincoln quote appears in the movie:

I see in the near future a crisis approaching. It unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country. The money power preys upon the nation in times of peace and conspires against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than a monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, more selfish than bureaucracy. It denounces, as public enemies, all who question its methods or throw light upon its crimes. I have two great enemies, the Southern Army in front of me & the financial institutions at the rear, the latter is my greatest foe. Corporations have been enthroned, and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until the wealth is aggregated in the hands of a few, and the Republic is destroyed. I feel at this moment more anxiety for the safety of my country than ever before, even in the midst of war. God grant that my suspicions may prove groundless.

Debunked at Snopes and even in an 1896 letter to the New York Times.

Perhaps a more accurate quote for Jones to consider is, "It's better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt."

ETA: I just couldn't resist making the Simpson's quote. I agree with your point Roadtoad

This thread should be moved to politics. I watched the film. I just says that Obama has the backing of business leaders. That is normal politics, and is legal, and doesn't fall into the conspiracy catagory.

Are you joking? The film says that Obama is a puppet of the global elite, and part of the new world order... and it goes on about him attending bildeberg and such, as if they're the guys pulling the strings..

This is a conspiracy theory video, not a political documentary. Are you saying Alex Jones made a legitimate documentary of Obama, here?

Do you jest?

The bilderburgers are business leaders who socialize and discuss business and political issues. This is not illegal. You can call them business elites or business leaders, it doesn't matter.

It is a solid film that Jones made, but his conspiracy films were more entertaining.

No i'm not jesting...

He insinuates that they CONTROL the show, and CONTROL Obama.. that's a huge difference between "socializing and discussing business and politics"..

THAT is conspiracy theory.

Obama takes a lot of money from large busniess interests. If Obama doesn't do what they want, he won't get any more money. That is not a conspiracy, that is real world politics.

You need to live in the real world, not fantasyland. You are paranoid and see conspiracy theories everywhere. Alex Jones is not the all powerfull boogeyman.

This stool example is older than dirt. C'mon man, at least put forth something less tired than this drivel.

You are a conspiracy theorist. There is no conspiracy in the Obama Deception. The thread should be moved to politics.

ROFL!! I'm paranoid and I see conspiracy theories everywhere because I call a movie made by a renowned conspiracy theorist, a conspiracy theory video? The new world order conspiracy theory is not a conspiracy theory? You're right.. i'm just being paranoid??? about conspiracy theories coming from a renowned conspiracy theorist..

You seem more like a fan of anything that's anti-obama, thus your willingness to buy into the anti-obama conspiracy theories.

Brief list of conspiracy theories in the video.

16:10 "They" gave us Obama to pacify us, because we were going to go into a revolution, but by putting a "black man" into office, it pacified us back into nonresistance against a new world order.

17:10 "For decades the banker owned media would attack anyone who dared to warn the public that a dictatorial world government was being constructed right under their noses"

57:20 "Federal reserve is orchestrating the economic collapse"

1:04:20 "Obama is meant to be the savior, and he'll save us with a million person domestic spy force, a 3 million person environmental spyforce"

1:06:00 "Either we fall, or they fall, either world wide darkness, and a new age of tyranny, and oppression, with a scientific overlay, or a new age of liberty and freedom, and a new Renaissance."

1:19:10 " artificially engineered global bankruptcy..."

1:27:15 Man made global warming, as sold to us by "the oligarchs" is basically "pseudo scientific non-sense, and it should be rejected"

1:27:30 FEMA camps to put away US citizens that dissent against Obama..

1:30:something.. Obama's gonna take yer guns..

You're basically doing the same type of cherry picking Jones engages in. You take one part of the truth, and say the whole thing is true.. therefore, it's not a conspiracy theory.

I have to wonder, did you even watch this video? It sounds like you watched the first five minutes, and shut it off.

you confuse routine political rhetoric and politics as usual with conspiracy. Man, I'd hate to be in your shoes, you see a conspiracy everywhere! None of the stuff you mention is illegal. Pretty pathetic for a so-called rational forum.

No dude, the quotes I cited are not "routine political rhetoric and politics".. I don't see conspiracy everywhere, I see a conspiracy theory documentary from a renowned conspiracy theorist. You see "a solid film" from a renowned conspiracy theorist. Who is the one lacking rationality, here?? Somehow, none of the mods have deemed this "a political documentary", and the thread remains in conspiracy theories. Go figure.

Hello everyone.

I was invited onto the forums by Gangularis to discuss, in part, this documentary. What is more pressing to me though is to see what a group of intellectuals such as yourselves have to say about Jones' assertion that the Republicans and Democrats are, at the highest levels, working towards the same goal.

So in a nutshell: do you think the "left/right paradigm" is real, or just chaff?

I'll have to have a look at the video tommorrow when I get home. I'd probably fit Jone's target criteria for the audience given my deep criticisms of Obama's politics but I'm already quite weary of relying on Jones in particular who completely destroyed his credibility with me in the 9/11 conspiracies... Would I be wrong to guess from the excerpts I see so far that the vid has a Zeitgeist'esque tone to it -- those who've seen it already?

I think Jones will continue to say whatever he thinks will get people sleeping in their closets, fearing police officers, detesting the military - and most importantly - sending him money.

Jones could run into the room screaming and on fire, and not only would I not piss on him to put it out, I'd ask for reputable third-party verification that he was actually on fire. That's how little credibility that corpulent charlatan has.

The left/right paradigm is real; it's the idea that it's a "false left-right paradigm" that Jones pushes which is bogus. Whenever somebody tells you that there's a false left/right paradigm, what they really mean is that their ideas are so outside the mainstream that they couldn't get either the Democrats or the Republicans interested. That is not necessarily to say that the Democrats and Republicans are right in ignoring the issue, just to say that there is a consensus on the part of both parties not to touch it.

Note that I am talking solely about the US here and that there are other paradigms that can be as useful for analyzing politics; the square paradigm where the two axes measure support for personal freedom and business freedom is useful if you really want to bring in the libertarians and the totalitarians. The ring paradigm is interesting when looking at the intersection of the extreme left and the extreme right; the idea is that the far left and the far right intersect and thus the political spectrum really resembles a ring rather than a straight line.

None of them work all the time, but they all have their uses.

Maybe the third part of Zeitgeist, when it got into all the banker stuff. I'm not a big fan of Obama either but this does not seem intended as outreach to the right wing. Jones remains harshly critical of Bush, and a lot of the criticisms of Obama, like Obama backing off repealing NAFTA and voting to reauthorize the Patriot Act and not pulling out of Iraq immediately, are things I actually like about Obama. The other criticisms are the usual stew of how his appointees are all Bilderberger, CFR, etc.

Jones does make one other obvious mistake that my cousin pointed out. Jones claims that Obama didn't have any major cabinet picks from Silicon Valley; he missed Secretary of Energy Steve Chu.

That is not necessarily to say that the Democrats and Republicans are right in ignoring the issue, just to say that there is a consensus on the part of both parties not to touch it.

Couldn't one say that how both parties ignore the corruption of the Federal Reserve results in both parties serving the same master? That master being the Fed?

Now I have no idea what's really going on. I don't know nearly enough about economics to say who's doing things in a corrupt way, but... After watching "Fiat Empire" I'm strongly of the opinion that America is being run by a corrupt system.

So... what are your thoughts on that?
