Teleportation in Quran

27:38 He said, "O commanders, which of you can bring me her throne before they come to me peacefully surrendering?"

27:39 A powerful being from among the Jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your station. For I am strong and trustworthy."

27:40 One who had knowledge from the book said, "I will bring it to you before you blink." So when he saw it resting before him, he said, "This is from the grace of my Lord, so that He tests me whether I am thankful or whether I reject. As for he who is thankful, he is thankful for himself, and as for he who rejects, then my Lord is Rich, Bountiful."

27:41 He said, "Disguise her throne so we may see if she will be guided or if she will be of those who are not guided."

27:42 So when she came, it was said, "Is your throne like this?" She said, "It appears to be similar." We were given knowledge before her, and we had peacefully surrendered.

You were supposed to announce a taffy pulling contest at St. Peter's,
not a peter puling contest at St. Taffy's

You can't change that fact.

You haven't established them as fact. Nor have you addressed the established facts that run contrary to your claims.

Sure, there are books aimed at fleecing the fans of conspiracy lore, and which face limited exposure and therefore limited criticism. But Fleming's case in court against other writers was based on his declaration that SPECTRE was something he made up. It wasn't the Illuminati, and it wasn't a real organization. These are Fleming's own declarations made under oath, so what Mike Sparks speculates to the contrary simply doesn't matter.

And then you quickly change the subject.

Because, James Bond, Illuminati are real.

Illuminati is organisation of Evil.

They want to ruin not only your world, but also the life of the Hereafter.

The World is not Enough.

Whoa whoa whoa, as a member of the Illuminati , I have to call you ouT!

Most of us are harmless and in no way evil.

If you want evil look to corporations

...........................teleportation? Seriously??? Have you considered that this is yet another story lifted from One Thousand and One Nights?

No, look, you know what? Never mind. I'd rather follow the conversation here about making Star Trek movies. That's MUCH more interesting.

Spouting stupid nonsense from your favorite fairy book and talking about James Bond does not validate your favorite fairy book.

Since he’s prattling about teleportation I suspect at this point he’s claiming that Watchmen is a documentary and Dr. Manhattan is Allah. I suspect just about every observant Muslim on the planet would find such a claim to be offensive but here we are watching our fellow forum member implying that very thing.

He’s quite the comedian, although the specter of a fatwa against him is the sort of thing he should be wary of. He needs to be as observant as a night owl. His claims are becoming something of a Rorschach test that may expose any extremist zealots who encounter this thread. If he attracts their attention he’ll be a very exposed blue boy to say the least.

Is there an audible "BAMF!" when this teleportation occurs?

I ask because at this point you seem to be trying to claim Nightcrawler is Allah. Given he can teleport back from the afterlife if he dies it's not an unfair comparison. Given the time he teleported a shark into The Blob's stomach he may be brutal enough to be a Middle Eastern deity.

Since he’s prattling about teleportation...

Harry Potter also has teleportation. I think Emre is losing the plot. As long as the veractiy of the book is in question -- as it is for skeptics in the cases of all holy writ -- then there is simply no point listing the fantastic claims it makes. Unverifiable claims of teleportation, mind-reading, transmutation, etc. are simply all filed under "Cool story, bro." There is similarly no point in reciting the list of natural phenomena that were seen and misunderstood in antiquity.

All religions lay some claim to the extraordinary or miraculous. Very few religions care to even try to substantiate them. They are points of faith. Swamis levitate, Christians rise from the dead, temple oil tanks last for days, and farmers translate Egyptian out of a hat. If you want to impress me, demonstrate a testable violation of the known laws of physics and prove to me that your god made it happen.

Harry Potter also has teleportation.

Yeah, but they call it apparition, which is a TOTALLY different thing.

To sum up Emre_1974tr's claims thus far:

  1. Everyone is wrong about the Koran except the religious leader Emre_1974tr follows
  2. The Bible is bad. mmmmm'kay?
  3. Allah thinks teleportation is cool.
  4. A bunch of vague descriptions of natural phenomena in the Koran are actually about quantum science somehow.
  5. The Koran predicted technologies hundreds of years before they existed, but nobody was able to use those predictions to invent anything.
  6. Everyone is wrong about the Bible except the religious leader Emre_1974tr follows
  7. A web forum populated almost entirely by atheists and agnostics is the PERFECT place to try and convert people to an Islam inspired cult by bashing Christianity.
  8. James Bond was a real person
  9. SPECTRE from the James Bond series is real as are the Illuminati.
  10. Allah is either Dr. Manhattan or Nightcrawler from the X-Men.
  11. James Bond is a paladin of Allah, serving his will by battling SPECTRE and the Illuminati

Am I missing anything?

Which means he probably doesn't care about any fatwas issued against him. All other Muslims are apostates, so their fatwas don't count.

Allah thinks teleportation is cool.

Which it is, objectively.

A bunch of vague descriptions of natural phenomena in the Koran are actually about quantum science somehow.

Sure, because quantum electrodynamics is the parking lot for all kinds of spurious claims of the supernatural. If anything is alleged to be supernatural, QM somehow magically makes it also science.

The Koran predicted technologies hundreds of years before they existed, but nobody was able to use those predictions to invent anything.

Emre's cohort should set up a mutual support group with the Nostradamians over this very question.

But that's what all the kids are doing today. I live not too far from one of the antique book dealers in my city. He has a wonderful collection of "scholarly" works written in the 19th century by non-Mormons about Mormonism, all of whom clearly have never read the Book of Mormon or been within 100 miles of a Mormon congregation, but who can seem to speak with such clear (yet contradictory) authority on both topics.

A web forum populated almost entirely by atheists and agnostics is the PERFECT place to try and convert people to an Islam inspired cult by bashing Christianity.

This is incredibly unfair to Emre. He's also bashing Judaism.

James Bond was a real person.

Yeah, but his real name was George Lazenby.

SPECTRE from the James Bond series is real as are the Illuminati.

Specifically, SPECTRE and the Illuminati are the same group.

James Bond is a paladin of Allah, serving his will by battling SPECTRE and the Illuminati.

With a little search-and-replace, this is also the plot of Harry Potter. Emre found a book, praised by Fetzer and Marrs, proving that Fleming wasn't writing fiction, but rather a thinly veiled history of real events. Similarly I can find people in my state who firmly believe J.K. Rowling is a real witch, and that the Harry Potter novels are not fiction, but rather a factual account of people dabbling in the occult.

So there really doesn't seem to be much difference among Harry Potter, James Bond, and the Qur'an. The problem for Emre is that we skeptics properly consider all three to be fiction.

Am I missing anything?

Six shots of single-malt scotch. Set 'em up, Charlie.
