The Marijuana Conspiracy

So stop whining at us about it. You live in a democracy, get in touch with your congressmen and senators. Get other people involved and change the law. Of course, you might hit the problem that most people get past their mid-20s and realise they don't want to get high, so good luck making it a priority for people.

You need to start realizing what, Of the people, By the people and For the people is all about.

The government is us and protects us. What you don't get is that we all chip in to support our government. There isn't such a thing as a free ride...under any government.

The highlighted statements in your post display your utter and pathetic resignation to a tyranical entity. Sounds like you are humbly approaching some kind of Royal higness with your hat in your hand over your heart, hoping the mighty one is in a good mood. I'm not a part of their pie to be eaten at their whim, and what's in my back yard is none of their bussiness.

No, the fact that you highlighted them shows a lack of maturity on your part.

Now I understand what all this FOTL movement is about. As a governed people we need to really rethink our place in this equasion, using the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights as a guide. When the government fears the people, there is liberty, when the people fear the government there is tyranny. In the US right now things are terribly askew.

Your first mistake is assuming that FOTL has anything to do with the U.S. Constitution or the Bill of Rights. In fact FOTL is all about a b.s. take on Common law that is out of touch with history and common sense.

FOTL is perfect for the CT forum, but the other stuff belongs in Politics.

That money goes for your schooling, your roads, hospitals, and many other government projects. The government dosn't just keep the country going with good intentions.

Again, your simply showing political and economical naivety by thinking that we can remove large chunks of income from the government and not experience ill effects. And if this is your method for getting pot legalized then you may as well just be banging your head against a brick wall.

All boiled down, SLC punk should be required watching to get people to understand how the world really works.

Um i have to say that the generalization that people over 20 don't get high or that the majority of smokers are under mid 20's is simply false.

Coming from a position of experience , a huge number of people in thier 40's 50's and above smoke, they simply are much more in the closet about it. Especially if they happen to own businesses or have well paying jobs in small towns.

I live in the US which is a Republic. As a wise man once said: Democracy is where two wolves and a sheep vote on what to have for dinner. The US is a Constitutional Republic. Where do you live, and what gave you the idea that the US is a Democracy? Perhaps it's because they repeat it over and over on TV and in the classrooms. The big lie theory.

I have no problem with people who don't want to get high. I wouldn't think of insisting that they do. I have been involved with politics since my teens. My experience and observation has revealed that no matter which party has been in power over the past thrirty years, all they have done is continue the march towards greater and greater governmental control over those they are paid to represent. Also they keep hiring more and more revenue agents to collect taxes, fines and their "piece of the pie" keeps getting bigger and bigger. The whole system has become a sham.

You know what your experience is worth?
Take a bucket of water.
Put your hand in.
Take your hand out.
See the hole you left?
There you go.

Greater and greater control, come on.

I can't smoke pot in the middle of the street without having to pay a fine, this country is a gulag.

Well move to a better country then, if its just pot, hell come to my city, its just across from Michigan and the most hassle i have ever gotten was " we have old ladies complaining, put it out".

You realize that you have this choice right, if your country is getting you angry, move to a different one. But seeing as you live in the us, there isn't many places you can go to get better, with the exception of maybe, Canada.

But if your not willing to leave, then either do something about the issues, something that matters, not screaming shill 20 times on this website. Or, deal with it. You have plenty of choices, you just seem to be picking the least effective one.

Well, he could learn to speak Dutch.

Well, he could learn to speak Dutch.

If it'll get him to stop ranting i will get my grandmother to teach him. Or i could, but then he would come off sounding like.....well actually, probably pretty close to how he sounds now.

Heck I never used the stuff, and I'm wanting and looking forward to being home watching TV by 9am....

Perhaps it's TV that's addictive....

Hard to say since you at least would have a better chance of fully comprehending what you are watching than I was back in the day.:D

A friend of mine was very very drunk when he received a phone call. After about 2 minutes on the phone he handed it to me babbling almost incoherently that he did not understand the caller. It was the host of the party we had been at the night before who was trying to tell my friend that he had left his jean jacket there. He was so drunk that he could not understand this simple communication because he was wearing his jean jacket as he spoke on the phone and it had to be someone else's jacket that had been left behind.

In comparison, at another time I was watching a movie on TV. I had seen this particular movie a few times already (Castle Keep, - 1969) and I was totally engrossed in the sublties and intracacies, the interplay between characters and the writer's undertones when, in the blink of a fade to black I found myself completely befuddled. I did not know what was happening in the movie, I had no clue what the writer was trying to get accross. I was not drunk!

Why anyone thinks its a great idea to be that intoxicated escapes me and as I already have stated, I was one of those persons and I still don't really know why.

In most of the world its two wolves, a rabbit, a sheep, a bear and a fox. Occassionally the bear just wants to graze grass and the fox, wanting to stay in the bear's good graces votes with the bear, sheep and rabbit for the grass.
Only in the USA with its two party system do the wolves hold sway but don't judge the world by that measure.

No, you just want those who do not to allow you to do so, and thus increase the number of problems our society experiences due to intoxicated persons.

Let's face it all your bluff and blunder about how great hemp is for paper and clothing, etc. is just a front. What you reallly want is to get high without penalty. If it became legal to smoke pot but nothing happened in the way of a hemp fuel, hemp clothing and hemp paper we'd never hear from you again.

Tell me, what gov't expenditures would you agree on?
military?
Social Security?
roads, water works, and other public infrastructure?
law enforcement and the judiciary ( enforcing for instance the laws banning theft and murder)
regulation of all aspects of air travel including airport security, ATC, aircraft safety?
regulation of anti-pollution laws?

Hemp is a major product of thirty countries. The largest producer are France and Russia. Hemp products that have a zero thc levels are available in the US and world wide.

http://azhemp.org/Archive/Package/Legal/legal.html

Companies in Canada, UK, US and Germany among many others process hemp seed into a growing range of food products and cosmetics; many traditional growing countries still continue to produce textile grade fibre.

However I have personally found that hemp based foods are not particularly tasty. Which explains their designation as a 'health' food. I find the taste to be like millet. Healthy but not overy tasty and little demand in the west.

This is yet another tired attempt to promote marijuana legalization with a bizarre lead in of legalizing hemp. I support legalization but this approach always fails for just being rather silly.

100% agree. Pot should be legal. but this idea it will lead to some huge economic boom is silly.

Booze is legal, but drinking it in the middle of the street will generally get you into trouble. We live in a Gestapo state, man!

Canada legalized over ten years ago, and promptly had a glut. The market was overpromised, and could not deliver. Many farmers took a bath on that "cash crop".

I could probably smoke pot in the middle of the street and not be fined also, but I wouldn't as it might be offensive to some people and their children.

What my complaint regarding this country is that what I believe to be a bunch of corporate lackeys are posing as our representative government.

The main point of my post was that the US is NOT a "Democracy", but rather a "Constitutional Republic". There is a huge difference. I noticed that the three people who attacked my post didn't address this point.

I do not believe that I screamed "shill 20 times on a website" either. Are you sure of what post you are addressing here?

Huge difference, huh? Such as?
Oh, you just meant the spelling.

Your thread is about pot being illegal being evil, plain and simple. It wasn't groundbreaking when woody harleson did it, and its not groundbreaking when you do it.

And as far as the shill comment goes, if you are not quick enough on the uptake that you understood what i was saying by that i don't know what i or anyone else can do to help you.

You do realize that "Democracy" and "Constitutional Republic" are not mutually exclusive terms, right?

Booze is legal, but drinking it in the middle of the street will generally get you into trouble. We live in a Gestapo state, man!

And you know, its not even like these things are enforced some of the time. Canada day about 3 years ago , me and some friends went to ottawa, where drinking in the streets is legal that day. And i can't count the number of times i wandered by a cop drinking from my giant beer and puffing on my joint and the worst i got that day was a " is that a joint?" to which i gave a mischievous smile and received a set of rolled eyes in return.

Yeah we live in a horrible oppressive place all right.

.....we did?

I know about 6 or seven years ago it was decriminilized in my city for a while, but i was unaware that it was made legal. Unless your talking about hemp, in which case sorry for the mix up.

And hemp stuff sucks, plain and simple. Even hemp rolling papers suck. I have never had a hemp product that i would prefer over any alternative. And trust me i have gotten many a free item from the local "hemp" shops. ( which seem to sell 1% hemp products and 99 per cent " tobbacco" smoking devices.)
