The Love Boat, TAM4

Problem solved. The grant that allowed me to go to Vegas has gone dry, and with kids getting ready for braces, college, etc., there is no way for me to justify such an expense. I simply do not make that kind of money.

Have fun, though.

Merc, I was kidding! You're a great guy; it won't be the same without you! I certainly hope things really go your way and you can come, or if not, at least come to TAM4.

In short, I'm for a boat ride. :)

Sure, long ship, dragon prow, first stop Lindesfarne.

The acorn does not fall far from the tree.:D

Next year, I'll make an effort to go to that big hole in the ground....what's that name again?? :)
Sorry, you lost me. "Hole in the ground...?" Are you thinking of Interesting Ian's place?

You see, this is why the world is blessed that I am not a mother. Come cruise time, my kids would have crooked teeth, and I would have a tan.

Karl is Linda's husband. He was doing the auctions.
Ahhh. Thanks.
Well, it has been 1200 years since we last went sailing to go plunder and pillage..... ;)
I'll take that as a "Yes, I want to go on a cruise with other forumites".

Cool. :)

I'm also sick and tired of Vegas. Three times in a lifetime (I went once in 1999) is more than enough. I swear to Ed I don't gamble!

So... TAM must be in Vegas, because of Penn & Teller, prices, because that's how the JREF wants it. Ok, no problem.

But we can do something separate, can't we? There's nothing stopping forumites from meeting anywhere they want to. Who could object to more social time?? Plus, of course we could include other skeptics, forumites or not.

Boats have lots of stuff to do. We'd never die of boredom! That is, I've never been in a cruise. I never felt like going to one - unless there were lots of people I'd be interested in talking to. Of course! Otherwise I might die of boredom. But a ship full of interesting people? I'm there.

We can do a lot of stargazing.

Miami is a good destiny, then the Bahamas. Miami is a cheap direct flight for most people, midway if you look in the map.

I'm all for it.
Luciana has joined! Sink or swim, we are all trully in the same boat, now. ;)

"Yes, I'm game, but it has to have a skeptical goal."

It's the literalist in me, I guess. ;)

Who could we "invite" (free cruise!) and make to walk the plank?

Hey, we thought our buddy Sylvia COULD swim...

I hope the ship in question has facilities for my Mammoths. Never leave home without them.

Forget the Grand Canyon. Start thinking Grand Cayman.

Been there, done that. (Well, sorta.) A hole in the ground is kinda appealing to Danes... ;)

Grand Canyon.
Got it.

BTW, if you've never been there, it is really worth a trip. Saw it myself many years ago. "Fantastic" doesn't begin to describe it.

Literalist, schmiteralist.

You can't wait to go. Admit it. :)

Kittynh, I'm shocked!

(Still, let's check if the spoon bender or John Edward's schedule is free)

Then was then. What's changed? :)

And that reminds me, that's how once I arrived in Copenhagen: by boat. :)

It's hard to tell people, with a straight face, that I'm going to Vegas for a conference. I want to know how I'll make any pretense of seriousness by telling people I'll go on a cruise with fellow skeptics.

I think Andrew Mayne used to do magic on cruise ships. Mr.Randi also!

I'm sure they'll be skeptical.

Think of it as advancing the cause.
