Merged The Lies and Fears of Cholesterol and Statin PUSH/Our Brain Needs Cholesterol

I suspect the idea to lower cholesterol intake was to reduce obesity in a population.

And unrelated news was lifetime metals ingestion from artificial sweeteners and preservatives was more related to dementia and old age mental issues.

But what do I know?

Dam dam dam, this is about cholesterol NOT vaccines....Why continually wander else where in posts....

Statins are ruining the minds of elderly

Damn, not dam.

Unless you're trying to control a river. Is that it, Caroline? Are you trying to hold back the torrent of verifiable facts that threaten to wash away your unevidenced crap?

Do you fear the great flushing?

I think I'll just wander in here and point out that I have been taking statins since the 1990s and, unless anyone can show this is not so, am still fully mentally alert and clear thinking as then!

There are a lot of things that the body needs, that are harmful if the body gets too much.

Vitamin A is required, but too much can cause blindness. The body needs calories, but too many causes obesity and a host of associated problems. The body actually requires minimal amounts of selenium, but that can be very deadly in even small doses.

Statins don't get rid of cholesterol entirely. The goal of them is to reduce it to the normal range expected in the human body. It doesn't take all the cholesterol out of the body, it just reduces the excess (when prescribed accurately and taken appropriately).

The whole "the brain needs cholesterol" argument ignores the facts, ignores the research, ignores the results, and also ignores the age-old medical wisdom: the difference between medicine and poison is dosage.

The argument for taking supplements as anything other than a remedy for actual deficiency relies on the assumption that because small amounts of something are needed large amounts must be even better. At best it just leads to more expensive urine.

It is an odd argument. The idea seems to be that our bodies are perfectly capable of fighting off any and all complaints and diseases on their own, and should be left to get on with it- but also that our bodies are incapable of fighting off disease and infection without taking copious amounts of supplements.
Odd also that those advancing this idea are the ones who will personally profit from the sale of said supplements.
Must be a coincidence, right?

It's not a conspiracy theory I believe more damage is done to people from the pharma drugs and that includes the statins....it's $$$$$ before anything else.

And I'm not alone on the world who thinks as I do.

As I said early on I'm not a fan of big pharma drugs. grrrrrrrrrrrr

One put me in the ER in the 80's and that did it for me.....my turningpoint on all of them, the few I take, I hold my breath that what side effects I may be getting are mild.

And do a search if you care to about the millions of deaths from drug interactions...the info is out "there"...

Obviously you will NEVER know anything else about the healing world as you've stayed stuck in big pharma...

That's the conspiracy part.

And I'm not alone on the world who thinks as I do.

This is medicine, not a popularity contest.

Pharma doesn't care. Medical drugs don't stop working because you don't like them.

Now you can add "everyone else" to the "things that don't care" list.

Your alleged bad experience at the hand of medical professionals does not invalidate the medical profession or the tools it uses.

... than what? More damage done than good?

If that's what you meant then, given the lives that are saved by many of those drugs, that's manifestly not the case. Side effects are usually known in advance, and if someone experiences serious ones the drug is immediately discontinued.

A case could be made for certain drugs that, because of the insane situation in the US, are overprescribed there - opioids, for example - but for most drugs even there (and nearly all in other countries) the good done clearly outweighs the bad.

And I'm not alone on the world who thinks as I do.
It's evidence, not popularity, that determines truth.

Stop giving health advice because as a snake-oil peddler, and a covid minimizer, you are spreading dangerous misinformation and encouraging dangerous behaviors. You are the absolute last person anyone should listen to concerning health/medicine. The last person.
