What's to say, really? Many Pagan faiths - including many sects of Wicca (sex of Wicca?) hold sexuality to be a sacred act, indeed, a holy ritual. Sex is removed from the confines of married relationships and entered into the socially acceptable arena of public spiritual behavior - for some.
Frankly, if I even brought up 'getting it on' with some Temple member at ritual with my wife within earshot, I'd be the next ritual sacrifice!
And many Pagans and Wiccans hold that love is a universal trait, an aspect of the Divine, which Man can only attempt to constrain to simplified relationships. Let's face it - most people, at one point or another, find themselves in the difficult position of being attracted to more than one person - otherwise, there wouldn't be so much extramarital sex going on, would there?
Many Pagan families tend to be highly dynamic, anyway, with women coming and going as they see fit, and husbands shared from time to time among whatever women occupy the house at any given time... Not our house (darn it
) but some houses. Other Pagan families eschew the idea of marriage altogether, and their local temple/coven/gathering is sort of one big, extended, pseudo-hippie communal family.Oh, we could probably write books about the Poly-Pagan subculture - but I really try not to get too involved in it (for a number of reasons).
Oddly enough, I haven't heard of any COMMITTED homosexual relationships with multiple members - BIsexual, yes, but not HOMOsexual. Now, if we're talking NON-committed - well, that's a ho of a different color.
You know, 1-in - you're obsessed. God was against rape, not homosexuality.

I know some people in multiple-partner relationships. Not legally married, any of them, but still living together in every sense. Some work out, some don't. The key seems to be controlling jealousy. If point A on the triangle gets jealous of point B spending time with point C, it's not going to work. But as long as everyone makes an effort to make sure nobody's being left out, it seems to function quite well.
Although I'm sure I'm inviting a flood of unpunctuated preaching from a certain idiot, I should mention that I gave a three-way relationship a try once. It didn't take long for me to realize that it wouldn't work--the other two were much better off as a couple. Point A was getting jealous of Point B's interest in the monkey. So I left gracefully and as far as I know, they're still together. I'm not saying I wouldn't try it again, but I'd be more cautious about the whole jealousy dynamic. It all sounds like fun, but like most things in life, it's probably just as big a headache.

I have not read the entire thing, but based on the opening post and the third page, it is easy to see that this is the case. I tend to reserve locking threads for two reasons (1) to give over-heated participants a chance to cool down or (2) to give the mod team a chance to review a situation.
In this particular case, the over-heated participants are arguing over an off-topic flame war. My inclenation is to just move the thread to Flame Wars and be done with it. However, I'm going to attempt to appeal to the board's better, more rational and civil, nature and formally ask that the participants in this thread kindly stick to the topic. Let's behave like adults here, please.[/modu]
