I thought I'd post an update on what has transpired with "my" FoTLer since I last mentioned him. You may recall that I have a matter involving a FoTLer who uses the whole robin's egg blue paper and signing documents with a bloody thumbprint - so a pretty extreme example of the cult membership. My role was to try to get the person to stop sending his blood/biological matter to various people at the police station and the courthouse, and he's stopped doing that now (instead he sends photocopies of his bloody thumbprint-signed stuff and retains his blood-smeared documents himself).
Now, I recognize that this person is not mentally well, and I find that sad, but what I find even sadder is the way these people tend to slide deeper and deeper into this nonsense and how things escalate until they find themselves in much more serious difficulty than they were initially.
In this matter, this person appears to have been fairly normal mentally until recently being introduced to the FoTL woo. He had a fairly normal life; had an apartment, a car, personal belongings, paid his car insurance, paid to update his licence plates, and although he was living on social assistance, seemed not to have any particular difficulties.
Enter the FoTL, and watch the escalation.
This person stops renewing his licence plate validation sticker as required. He gets pulled over for going through a red light and gets a ticket for that, and for having an expired validation sticker. He fails to pay the tickets, fails to show up in court, and gets fined. He starts sending in FoTL screeds (on robin's egg blue paper with bloody thumbprints) and continues to ignore the fines. He files all the usual FoTL mumbo-jumbo crap and continues to ignore the fines. The fines start to pile up (quickly amounting to several hundred dollars worth) and collection procedures are initiated.
He gets deeper and deeper into the woo, and stops renewing his car insurance, and starts parking his vehicle wherever and whenever he wishes, for example, on private property. He continues to drive, again goes through a red light and gets pulled over. This time, he has no car insurance - that offence attracts an automatic $5,000 (yes, five thousand dollar) fine here. Of course, he again files all manner of mumbo-jumbo and doesn't show up in court.
He keeps parking on private property and gets parking tickets that he ignores. He leaves his vehicle on private property for several days, then removes it after getting several tickets but then returns again (so it's apparent that he's seen and received the tickets) and gets ticketed again and eventually the car is towed away.
Now, he has
thousands of dollars in unpaid fines, no car, is incurring daily impound charges, refuses to provide the documentation required to have the vehicle returned to him, and is likely to end up vehicle-less, penniless, licence-less, and in jail if he doesn't just stop the madness.
And yet he is not stopping. It's like he cannot see that he is in a downward spiral that will not stop without him just jumping off of the woo train.
Pretty sad.
Once this person's saga is all over, I will post up redacted versions of some of the documents, as some of them are quite breath-taking in their stupidity and quite startlingly contradictory and way, way over the top.
That said, I did find a bit of humour in a 40 paragraph long 'affidavit' that this person sent in with his latest round of woo materials. After rambling on for several pages and claiming that the removal of the vehicle from where it was illegally parked is "theft, similar to stealing a horse', and claiming that each individual who issued parking tickets and the parking authority itself must therefore pay a 'fee' of $100,000 each to this FoTL, this is how the parking tickets are described (all grammatical, spelling, spacing, and punctuation errors are in the original):

Fact, whereas this geographical area and location is Common Law territory, and the material left littered was done and facilitated under maritime/admiralty legal system whereby private property was on land not water and affiant is adhered to following orders as if on a ship, or part of the ships cargo or as a ships passenger, and

Fact, whereas the Affiant is not a lawyer or a member of the law society, and does not understand legalese and or the actions made under the direction made by de facto system made ensure abuse of power is alleviated, and
Respondent's failure to provide the Affiant with a verified rebuttal to this affidavit point-by-point no later than ten (10 days from the date of issuance, or request additional time to comply, will comprise Respondent's agreement with and confession of all facts herein, in perpetuity, the said confession being res judicata and stare decisis.
All words herein are as Affiant defines them.
So, parking tickets are, apparently, "litter" with black print in the world of FoTL on the basis that they are written in 'legalese' which he says he doesn't understand, and yet the 'affidavit' is chock full of legal terms that the fellow bastardizes and full of statutes that he cites when it suits him while simultaneously claiming that statutes do not apply to him.
Bizarre.
