The DeSantis gambit

You never can tell, real Nazis are so dumb that they might show up to support DeSantis and think it was going to help him. My guess though is that it's another stunt by the Lincoln Project pervs.

If the Duhhh Santis campaign knew the Nazis were actually plants, would that make it more or less likely to distance from them?

What the hell is wrong with these people?

As said before, not all Republicans are racists but racists tend to vote Republican.

Think this meme is a bit expired now. The Republican party, as exemplified by their most prominent leaders like Trump or DeSantis, is an explicitly racist party. Anyone who supports them is supporting an official position of racism, QED they are racists. It doesn't really matter how they rationalize it themselves, actions mean more than intentions.

The Republican party is the party of aggrieved, reactionary bigots. Their supporters are aggrieved reactionary bigots down to the last man.

I'm reminded of past political protests:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/oct/30/lincoln-project-glenn-youngkin-virginia-event

Unless there's verification of these people's identities and confirmation that they really are Nazis, then this is just as likely to be a smear job. It's been done before, it will be done again.

It's also been real before, and will be real again.

Going by past history, which do you think is more likely?

Also, the one you cited was a smear job by other Repugnicans. (RINO's, no doubt.)

Republicans posing as Republicans to smear Republicans with Republican support. How avant garde. Given Youngkin's actions in office have been entirely in keeping with the ideals of the Third Reich, I'm having trouble feeling much outrage at them calling a spade a spade.

Hey you know what's a better test? Go try out a "smear job" of your own at a Pride event by pretending to be a gay Nazi and waving a swastika around. See how long you can go before you get your teeth kicked in by everyone else there, something which entirely failed to happen during both Republican protests and frankly that should tell you more than any measure of ironic sincerity.

The Lincoln Project are "Republicans" to the extent that it's useful to claim to be Republican when attacking Republicans. They are funded by the left wing, they take left wing positions, their targets are all Republicans. There is no meaningful sense in which they are actually Republicans, except perhaps voter registration (which at most means a choice of which primary you want to vote in).

I don't care if you're outraged or not. That's rather irrelevant. The point is, this is likely to be a smear job. If you're happy about that smear, well, nothing to be done about that. But if you can't even recognize that possibility, then you're a rube.

I'd take this argument more seriously if leftists kicked the actual communists out from their midst, but they don't. Seriously, wear a Stalin or Mao or Che t-shirt to a leftist protest, see how many people object. Hell, see how many people are wearing the same thing.

Plus, this is an apples to oranges comparison, since there was no event here for them to get kicked out of.

I think a smear is more likely, but by no means guaranteed.

Also, the one you cited was a smear job by other Repugnicans. (RINO's, no doubt.)

So what? A smear is a smear. Could these guys be Trump supporters trying to take down DeSantis? That's entirely possible.

As for the Lincoln Project specifically, yeah, if you didn't know they were RINO's, you haven't been paying attention. They are thoroughly creatures of the left, whatever their pretenses.

Yes. Democrats are hiring Nazis to pretend to be Republicans. That's a perfectly sane and logical take on the situation.

Rofl. No. The Lincoln Project are Republicans with a shred of personal integrity. I can't imagine why that would ever come across as non-Republican to you. Truly, I'm perplexed.

They do not. If you genuinely think they're on the left, that only serves to show how far to the right thugs like DeSantis have pulled your own viewpoint.

Okay so they are pretending to be Nazis to make DeSantis look bad.

DeSantis STILL hasn't denounced them.

Bwahahahahaha!

No.

They were grifters, who found a new grift. The fact that all it takes for you to assume someone has integrity is to go after Trump is kind of sad. But it's a key ingredient in the success of their grift.

That's part of the game: try to make someone denounce something that they aren't even familiar with. You can either do it with groups that should be denounced, and criticize them for not doing it fast enough, or you can do it by misrepresenting a group, in the hopes that it creates a wedge if they do denounce them before knowing all the facts. Even better, do both. It's actually enough just to make the candidate dance by denouncing whoever the press demands he denounce, even if all of them are worthy of denunciation. It's a sort of assertion of dominance: the candidate has to do what the press demands.

I've seen no evidence that DeSantis supports Nazis. Beyond that, I don't really care if he's not interested in playing the denunciation game with the press.

Based on one ham-handed attempt in another race? Versus what actually happened during Desantis' first run at governor?

They wouldn't even have to buy Nazi regalia for the occasion.

Ah, yes, those far left-wing CNN Sunday morning shows. Like anyone but centrist Beltway nerds pay attention to them.

2 simple question:

are the Lincoln Project people less Republican than Trump ?
are they bigger grifters than Trump ?
