True, and most of us no longer have immunity to it as they stopped vaccinating for it decades ago. If it ever gets released as a bio-weapon, it will spread like the plague. My grandmother barely survived it when she was 17.

I'm fully aware of the bio-weapon concept but the elimination of smallpox is a major success story for science, medicine and rationality. Before the recent rise of global insanity the World was well on the way to eliminating polio and a host of other vaccine preventable diseases. Today I worry.

Not only that... Smallpox is a disease that we have a vaccine for. Although they do not have huge stockpiles of the vaccine, they will probably be able to ramp up production pretty quickly. Ok, thousands might die before it's widely available but it will be a short-lived problem.

It's not like covid, where they had to take the better part of a year to analyze the disease, formulate a vaccine, and run trials to ensure safety and effectiveness.

The Appellate Court said no such thing. That's DeSantis' dishonest spin.

That reminds me of what's-her-face being asked why she's endorsing a rapist and twisting it around to claim that the question is "rape shaming" her because she was raped at the age of 16. In a similar way, it seems that "racism exists" is being twisted into, "white people are evil". These people are all so deeply narcissistic. Disney has conceded that their last-minute development agreement with RCID is invalid.
