Yeah, I expect he's trying to do some deal (maybe even had the Trump team reach out to him) in which he can try to help Trump win the New Hampshire primary outright against Haley.

Then he can turn up at Mar-e-Lago, bend the knee and tell Trump, "I have done your bidding, Lord! Does our agreement still stand?"

Then Trump can laugh at him and send him on his way, and probably make some video mocking DeSantis for not realizing what everyone should, that Trump has no shame, no sense of honour, no principles, etc...
 
He's still governor of Florida, so plenty of time till his term ends in January 2027 that he can stuff up.

"“We just got some word that one of our opponents, very capable person, is dropping out of the race — Ron DeSantis. And Ron is dropping out and, in doing so, he endorsed us,” Trump said to cheers, before a “Trump!” chant broke out in the room of volunteers.

"Asked if he would be using the nickname “Ron DeSanctimonious”: “I said that name is officially retired,” he said to loud cheers.'"

Looking through some of the comments in that thread, they are quite eye-opening. Apparently back in November 2022 some people were almost overjoyed about the announcement that Trump was running again. After all, he had lost once to Biden so no way could he win again...
