The case against Dr. Paul

What a funny remark. Are you watching the House debate about the budget right now?

I am:

us.cnn.com >>> Video [Livestream] >>> House discusses budget

Ollie, I am sick and tired of having clueless moron like you giving my country, and by extension myself, such a bad reputation.

Can you please do me a big favor? Go, learn something about the US. A lot of somethings. You don´t have the faintest friggin´ clue about the US, its people and its political system. And what´s worse, you´re actually PROUD of your ignorance.

And, while you´re at it, get at least a basic grasp of economics, so you can understand why Ron Paul´s "economic" "policies" are a recipe for desaster.

Thank you in advance.

At this point, with respect to this election, who cares what Dr. Paul says or does or thinks? Isn't this just so "over?"

As futile as it sounds, Ron Paul gets my vote. Even if it's a write-in.

It's Ron Paul or "Other". I choose Ron Paul. Anyone else is a vote for increased misery, fascism, economic woe, more fear tactics...basically a collapse of the America I want to be proud of again.

Some things just have to be lived through though. These will certainly be interesting times ahead, no matter what happens.

Gold -- crossed $1,000. Silver -- comfortably above $20. Crude oil -- $108 a barrel. Dollar index -- under 72. Dow Jones -- on its way down, down, down. Brief rallies, but only on a small sampling of stocks. The Euro touching new highs against the dollar every day. Bonds collapsing. Valejo in California on the verge of bankruptcy, only the beginning of cities defaulting on bonds. Financial institutions trying to pawn their garbage off on each other, no one trusts anyone else, so the government starts accepting the garbage as collateral and issues Treasuries in exchange. Insanity!!!

The public cries, "Do something, quick!" and the government & Fed respond. Doing nothing would be the best solution. Everything they do will only make things worse. But doing nothing isn't an option...SO! Just take it all into account and invest in the right places and make out like a filthy bandit.

I don't honestly care if it was the word of God. :| I just want him to make it in his own words.
(bolding mine)

Do you not read very well, or do you just ignore what you read? Tokorona didn't say, "in words," he said "in his [that would be you, Ollie] own words."

I think some people do confuse the "Mainstream Media" and The Borg.

Well, resistance is futile.

When is Germany going to reimburse America for defending it for the last 60 years?

ETA: Do you not realize that America's economic problems are the worlds economic problems? If America was not spending its wealth defending nations such as Germany; which has the capacity to defend its self, than the world would not be facing the economic crisis it now is.

Really!>!? Are you serious Jerome? Think about why American troops were stationed in Germany for the first 50 or so years. Do you think it was in America's interest (we'll get to reimbursement next) to keep troops in W. Germany during the Cold War?

Let me at this point cite one of the most famous JREFfians in here:

"No."

Added: Why don't people just start an own thread about the boring country called Germany? I doubt that it is in any way related to Dr. Paul - besides his German ancestors.

"No" to what? Getting a clue about US politics, history, and culture? Your answer begs the question.

You actually want a economic collapse to happen so you can get rich off it.
You are one of the most selfish, heartless bastards I have ever encountered.

"No" to blabbering about off-topic issues. He's free to discuss the points I made by making some plausible counter-arguments.

Why should he waste time studying the US? Oliver knows it all already.......

Actually - no. I don't know everything. You might realize this whenever I post something that looks like this: >>> ? <<<

And I know you don't bother to address those anyway.

dudalb, it's much deeper than that. Peter Schiff puts it like this. The country is sick. It has to take its medicine. The medicine tastes really bad. But that's what is necessary to cure the patient.

I don't want a collapse just so I can profit by it. I'm profiting just fine even without a collapse. I want a collapse because I see the endgame, after the collapse. I hope for a better world. You'll stand to benefit too, in the long run. Everyone will.

If a system is corrupt, it's better to let it die than work to support it, wouldn't you think? Even though it will cause a bit of suffering.

A Bit Of Suffering......Thanks for proving my point,Dash.

Do you ever even have a point, dudalb? What exactly do you stand for? Why don't you share with us your enlightenment? What's your take on all the dire economic news coming out all the time?

You seem to operate often as a heckler/scoffer. But do you ever stick your neck out and give others a chance to pick your statements apart? I don't recall a lot of that, if any.

Dash perceives himself as a citizen of Atlantis from Atlas Shrugged in which the nation falls apart under the burden of its own statism and then John Galt and his crack ninja squad of middle-aged industrialists swoop down from their cloaked utopia in the Rocky Mountains and save the world with neo-classical economics.

That's how I feel about Obama, McCain and Hillary.

I think this election is a deliberate joke played upon the American public.

It's like a Hobson's choice.

1) Choose the white guy. But wait, you hate where the economy is going and the war in Iraq is a disaster and all...well then...
2) Choose the woman. Uh-oh. First woman president of the USA. And it's Hillary? A woman whose voice sounds like a shovel grating on a rock...4 years of this?...ugh....so instead....
3) Choose the black guy. Uh-oh. First black president. Oh no, what will this mean? Will the blacks rise up and take revenge? Will we see tons of affirmative action? Whatever will we do? We're losing power!!!

It's hilarious. Everyone has something to fear, it seems.

Me? I will vote for Ron Paul, he's my #1 choice.

If I had to pick a second choice, it would be Obama I guess. I can tolerate 4 years of him more than the other ones. If he has to win, it'd be great if he chooses Ron Paul as his running mate, in an unprecedented move to show his commitment to bipartisan politics.

It doesn't really matter which of those 3 get elected. Their strings are pulled by the same puppetmasters, in the end...
