The case against Dr. Paul

Wow... just wow... you really have no clue how deflation would devastate the economy, do you?

Dash probably plans on riding out the storm in a bunker with his gold, his shotguns ,and lot of canned foods and MRE's.

That is just about the most lame, me-too, knee-jerk groupie comment I've heard this week.

It's hilarious. You guys are all so amazingly ignorant about economics it's laughable. You don't think I haven't heard these same things you're spouting from 99% of all economists in the mainstream media? You're not spouting your own thoughts, you're spouting theirs. You're basically tape recorders.

Wow.Just Wow.
Have'nt we heard the same thing from many other kooks, with just the subject we are totally ignorant of changed?
Let's see...that has been said about us concering 9/11,Astrology,Psychic Phenenmenon,UFOs, Quack...excuse me Alternative...Medicine and many other things.

So, the top nation, Canada, supplied over one-sixth of all U.S. crude oil imports. The top two nations, Canada and Mexico, supplied one-third of all U.S. crude oil imports. The top five nations supplied 69% of imports. The top ten nations supplied 87.5%; the remaining 12.5% came from 38 different countries.

Note that Ronny also wants to tear up trade agreements between the US and its neighbours...

Wow... just wow... you really have no clue how deflation would devastate the economy, do you?

Wow...just wow...I want the economy to collapse. Didn't you pick up on that? I don't want it to hold together. I want it to fly apart and explode and be so godawful bad no one will think of using fiat currency to buy votes for 3 more generations.

You have no idea how much I despise what America has turned into.

I'm playing for the endgame. The aftermath. The phoenix that rises from the ashes. I hope for the old America back.

If it goes completely socialistic I'll move my family out. I hear the Philippines is nice.

I love that when people like Dash are so utterly wrong about something and they realise that what they say is contrary to popular and even expert opinion, it's never because they are in error. It's always everyone else!

Might the fact that we're all saying the same thing be because what we're saying is actually correct?

Ahhh... the reverse argument from popularity. The final intelligible defense of the crackpot. Popular belief means that the belief is somehow wrong.

Dude, what's your game? Whose side are you on, anyway? Are you playing dial-an-argument? You oppose everyone at once?

You told "spindrift" this:
You don't get it do you?

1) It is your fault in getting to the pathetic circumstance where you have to borrow money.

2) As such you are taking advantage of the corrupt practice known as fractional banking that allows deadbeats like you to take other peoples money to make up for your failure reflected in (1) above.

3) Now you want use inflation to steal the value of everybody else's money to pay back the money the bank recklessly has taken from good and noble americans who save money instead of borrowing it like losers like you are reduced to. No wonder you are a collectivist liberal statist dohickey.

People like you are why America is in a death spiral. Hope you are happy.

Then you tell me:

Uh oh. Care to elaborate on "constitutional government?"

The US has always been another nation among many. More of the failure of the US educational system that has always been more about deifying the United States than actually teaching its history...

????

Me, I'm not in debt. Naturally I favor deflation. I want my money to buy more.

Oh. Em. Gee.

If your money supply is fixed but you need more money (productivity increases, or the population grows), the only way to do this is through devaluing your currency, meaning your money is worth less. How hard is that to understand?

When your money is worth less, prices must fall, meaning deflation. It's not like in a deflationary economy your money keeps the same value and prices drop, especially not when that currency is tied to the Gold Standard. This then repeats: it's a vicious circle; a race to the bottom.

You're trolling, right? You didn't get that he was being sarcastic? You agree with his reductio ad absurdum characterisation of your bizarre opinions?

Volatile,

You really need to rethink your logic.

Prices = a price of a can of corn, or a car, or whatever. Priced in dollars. When your money is worth less, prices rise. Each dollar buys less of whatever it is you want. So you need more dollars to buy what you want. This is inflation. Price inflation.

The argument against deflation by the propaganda machine is that if prices are falling, people realize they can just wait a little more before buying, and they'll get even more for their money. So the economy slows down due to less spending. Which means prices go down to try to convince people to buy. This is the race to the bottom you mean.

If the money supply is fixed but population increases, there is a greater demand for the money itself -- it must be divided among more people. Therefore each unit of money becomes more valuable. It buys more goods and services. This isn't "devaluation" this is price deflation. Or just deflation for short. Meaning prices are going down, because money is more valuable.

If money supply is fixed but productivity increases, the same amount of money buys more goods or whatever. Productivity increase means lower prices -- deflation. This doesn't affect the money supply. It's what we want when we get technological improvements -- increased productivity. We pass the savings on to you!

Sarcasm. Great.

I'm outa here. Nevermind, you guys have it all worked out, I must be mistaken. Sorry I bothered you.

On another thread in the General Science section, dash tries to prove that all of modern physics is wrong.
W ehave a live one here,folks.

I guarantee, anyplace you go to will be even more Socialist then the US.
You are coming off like a freaking Anarchist who really wants NO government .
And if you think the US is washed up,why bother supporting Ron Paul.
Frankly, you strike me as a survivalist type who is living in some kind of Post Apocalyptic Fantasy world.
Between this thread and your loopy theories on physics, you hereby make my "Kook" list.

I experimented more with this forum, and realized I can add people to my ignore list.

So "Suddenly" and "dudalb" have now been promoted to my ignore list. Very cool feature.

volatile,

Yes, I think that all the time. I'm always questioning my beliefs. Are you? Are you just a knee-jerk scoffer? Might it be possible that 99% are wrong and 1% is right?

Look, please just look, do a little research about the 1970 era. Look up James Dines. He was a lone voice who knew going off the gold standard was going to be a disaster. He was of the 1% that saw what was going to happen. And strangely, he and those listening to him made out like bandits by investing in gold. Just a stupid, yellow metal. Yet it made them rich. Certain mining stocks could be bought for under a dollar, then 5 years later sold for $300.

If you can be one of the 1% that see reality, bucking the 99% that are wrong, you can really make a lot of money. We're seeing a repeat of the 70's again. All the pieces are in place. Only it's much, much worse. Bigger. Badder.

And you guys waste time trying to debunk me like I'm the crazy one. Priceless.

BTW silver is the new gold, this time around. Gold's going to rise, but silver is going to rise faster.

Have a gander at Ted Butler's archive here:

If I'm a kook I've certainly got a lot of company.

Here's Jason Hommel's silver stock report archive

http://www.silverstockreport.com/ssrarchive.htm

Look at Kitco's archive, look at Antal Fekete's articles.
http://www.kitco.com/ind/index.html
For example, take a look at Antal's Nov 26 article,
"Our Diseased Monetary Bloodstream"
http://www.kitco.com/ind/fekete/nov262007.html

As I said before, even with little or no net worth you can actually benefit from the coming storm. You just need to be willing to trash your credit rating.

Am I the only one who finds this eagerness for a disaster that will cause endless suffering to come so an individual can make a few bucks to be more then a little disturbing?

" Both the WTO and CAFTA could force Americans to get a doctor’s prescription to take herbs and vitamins. Alternative treatments could be banned."
Banning stupidness is wrong. But Dr. Paul should know that there's no such thing as alternative medicine. Only medicine and non-medicine.

You KNOW what the Ronulans mean by "alternative medicine" of course. They want marijuana legalized, so they can order it online and never have to leave the comfort of mommy's and daddy's basement. Unless they get the munchies. But then, there's always pizza delivery. Have to have mommy order it though, otherwise the pizza guy WILL KNOW!

Great. Now I'm never going to get to hear about "constitutional government." I do wonder whether it has to do with Ra from the sixth density dimension whatzit, like his theories about physics...

No.

Just another trait of the dedicated crackpot hoping that his weird version of pascal's wager comes in and lets him laugh at the ignorant fools that didn't see the Truth...
