Thank you again. My mistake and unlike many here I freely admit when I'm wrong. I read the linked post and not the thread title. Let me rephrase to better reflect a more accurate statement. "I was reading this page and writing a reply in this thread and saw no recent post about Biden testing positive for Covid at the time I posted the breaking news alert."

There seems to be no discussion of Biden testing positive here other than the post you linked. It seemed a hot topic when Trump tested positive.

I suppose times have changed.

I hope he has a speedy recovery without incident.

Because Biden is having very mild symptoms as opposed to having to have Trump be hospitalized.

Because Trump got it during the height of danger and was flaunting basic safety, holding super-spreader events, and even mocking Biden for wearing a mask.

Because there is a huge difference between catching the virus as it slowly moves towards being endemic and catching it at the height of its pandemic levels brought on by Trump's own utter mismanagement.
 
And Biden hasn't done the Trumpian "Me me me!" antics over it... like somehow getting a bunch of doctors to pose in military-like formation outside the hospital for a picture to be labeled as if they were all his personal team/army of doctors focusing on just his case and nothing else... or somehow getting them to let him borrow a meeting room so he can pose with a pen and some blank pages he wouldn't read even if they weren't blank and publish the pictures as part of a lie about how he's "still working hard"... or doing his weird "dictator at his balcony silently looking out & down over his admiring cheering throng" pose for a few minutes upon returning from the hospital to try to prove to us how "strong" & symptom-free he is while he's obviously still ill & frail & struggling to stand & breathe...

Technically, Biden does still have time left to do that last one, but he won't. It's not his style, and it sounds as if his symptoms might not ever have gotten as bad as Trump's still were when he was trying to show us how much better his had gotten.
 
More could be poked at than kookbreaker and Delvo have, but, really, it pretty much all comes down to "Context matters."

Either way, I, too, wish for Biden's swift and safe recovery.

While I agree with all that, I just cannot help myself sometimes, and must point out that he was flouting basic safety, and not flaunting it, which actually means just about the opposite.

Because Biden is fully vaccinated and Trump obviously wasn't.

and

Because Biden is fit and healthy for his age and Trump isn't.

And Biden never pushed snake oil treatments for Covid or declared it would be over by Easter over two years ago. Nor is Biden's oxygen level so low he came close to being ventilated while lying about how well he's doing. Then again, Biden isn't a pathological liar.

What in the world does Bigfoot have to do with Biden or the fact he cancelled a program that hurt those that needed lower cost Insulin? Or are you simply using an Ad Hominem attack to end a debate you cannot possibly win? Like so many others...

Is this what you're on about? There was no "program." Biden froze all impending Trump regulations for a 60-day review. Trump's proposed rule on insulin never took effect, and would only have applied to a small percentage of patients.
The National Association of Community Health Centers, among others, expressed support for the new administration's move, saying the Trump rule would not have lowered the cost of insulin and EpiPens for most Americans who use them, as advertised.
In a Jan. 25 statement, it also said the Trump rule reflected "a fundamental misunderstanding" of federally qualified health centers and the 340B drug program, placing extensive administrative burdens on them.

“The stated aim was to cut drug prices. However, it triggered alarm among safety net providers and bipartisan lawmakers because it would accomplish the opposite of what the Trump Administration intended — ultimately making it harder for health centers to provide affordable life-saving services and prescription drugs — especially during the pandemic,” the association said.

It pointed out that the only patients affected would be those using the health centers.
The overall prices of insulin and EpiPens across the country are not affected by the Trump administration regulation or the recent action by the Biden administration, the health center association said.

Biden has made lower prices on insulin part of his Build Back Better bill, and has proposed allowing the federal government to negotiate drug prices generally. The Repubs are having none of it.

I continue to contend that "socialist" Bernie Sanders is really somewhat to the right of old-time liberal Democrats like Hubert Humphrey, George McGovern and even RFK.
