I applaud some of the things that Biden has done, but I think that his handling of Russia's invasion of Ukraine has been unforgivably and inexcusably weak, and that his energy policy has been a disaster (as we can all see).
Until we have a viable alternative to fossil fuels, it is reckless and destructive to wage war on the fossil fuel industry and to seek to discourage investment in oil production infrastructure, which Biden has been doing. He tells the oil companies to produce more oil, but then he turns around and discourages investment in oil production infrastructure, cancels a major drilling project that would have yielded millions of barrels per day, and cancels the perfectly sane Keystone XL pipeline.

Care to explain what Biden should have done about the Russian invasion of Ukraine?
In this forum more than once there has been whining that renewable power wasn't anywhere close to replacing fossil fuels. And I do not understand the hate towards EV's or renewable energy.
The more EV's on the road, and the more renewable energy powering the grid, the more time we have to wean from diminishing fossil fuels.
In this forum more than once there has been whining that renewable power wasn't anywhere close to replacing fossil fuels.
It's not only likely alternative energy sources will be able to replace fossil fuels soon, they are proving to be cost effective. Some utility companies want solar power used by homeowners banned. Said companies don't like losing money.
Absolutely. I'd be running solar on my roof, but my house is surrounded by rather large trees. Not terribly effective.
Wow! That sounds amazing. More leases than Trump's first year! Especially since Biden ordered the Secretary of the Interior to pause new oil and gas leases pending completion of a comprehensive review and reconsideration of Federal oil and gas permitting and leasing practices on Jan 27, 2021 via Executive Order 14008 sec. 208 Jan 27, 2021
This "New Data" seems to suggest that even though Biden was clearly taking a stand to tie up oil and gas leases by Executive Order, he was actually promoting the leasing of Government Lands! Hurray for Biden! What a guy! He combats evil oil leases to protect the environment AND has more leases than Trump's first year too! It's like he's serving Big Oil AND the Environmentalists too! Nobody even bothered to ask the question, are those "new" leases or "old" leases coming due for payment again?
Well, back to reality. What you've linked to is called "spin". It's designed for a reason. The best spin has a few items of truth in it but it omits large sections or sometimes tiny details about that "truth" that if known will completely stop the spin. So let's have a look.
Executive Order 14008 signed Jan 27, 2021 Sec. 208:
"Sec. 208. Oil and Natural Gas Development on Public Lands and in Offshore Waters. To the extent consistent with applicable law, the Secretary of the Interior shall pause new oil and natural gas leases on public lands or in offshore waters pending completion of a comprehensive review and reconsideration of Federal oil and gas permitting and leasing practices in light of the Secretary of the Interior's broad stewardship responsibilities over the public lands and in offshore waters, including potential climate and other impacts associated with oil and gas activities on public lands or in offshore waters. The Secretary of the Interior shall complete that review in consultation with the Secretary of Agriculture, the Secretary of Commerce, through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the Secretary of Energy. In conducting this analysis, and to the extent consistent with applicable law, the Secretary of the Interior shall consider whether to adjust royalties associated with coal, oil, and gas resources extracted from public lands and offshore waters, or take other appropriate action, to account for corresponding climate costs."
OK, Biden orders the Secretary of the Interior to pause new oil and natural gas leases pending a review. So let's see about that review.

"STATEMENT ON SECOND QUARTER OIL AND GAS LEASE SALES
The Interior Department’s ongoing review of the federal oil and gas program is assessing compliance with applicable laws and, as directed by Executive Order 14008, reviewing whether the current leasing process provides taxpayers with a fair return.
Based on our ongoing review, the Bureau of Land Management is exercising its discretion to not hold lease sales in the 2nd quarter of Calendar Year 2021. This decision does not impact existing operations or permits for valid, existing leases, which continue to be reviewed and approved. The BLM remains committed to managing our programs in a way that restores balance on public lands, creates jobs, and provides a path to align the management of America's public lands with our nation's climate, conservation, and clean energy priorities. "
Looks like they decided to not hold lease sales in the second quarter of 2021 unlike the first quarter of 2021. But we have all this "New Data" that lists and credits Biden for leases in the 1st quarter of 2021? What the? Oh, the highlight portion comes into play. Those weren't "new" leases they were "valid existing leases". Biden gets credited for existing leases that are due for payment. I guess he can truthfully blame Trump for those as even the Bureau of Land Management states:
"The Trump administration conducted a fire sale of public lands and waters, offering more than 25 million acres onshore during the past four years, 5.6 million of which were purchased."
So what are we left with in reality? Did Biden stop leasing oil and gas. Yes by Executive Order. No new leasing at all for a period of time in 2021. Did Biden stop drilling permits? Obviously not, by law he can't. As it turned out EO 14008 didn't hold up in Court either. Biden inherited a backlog of thousands of drilling permits and those continue to be approved. In fact Biden has pleaded with Big Oil to drill more in hopes of lowering the price of gasoline. But the reality is when you go to war you really shouldn't expect help from the other side. Even the much touted 1.7 million acre oil lease sale in the Gulf of Mexico was a flop.

"Before those leases could take effect, a federal judge invalidated the entire sale Thursday, delivering a victory to environmentalists. Judge Rudolph Contreras, of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, wrote in his opinion that the government had justified the sale using a flawed analysis, which assumed that the climate impacts would be worse if the acreage went unsold."

Doesn't matter how many or how few Biden allows. It takes years to make a new oil well produce.
Did he shut down any existing wells? That's what would have had immediate effect, and I don't recall anyone making that claim.

That happened a lot during the pandemic under Trump. The oil companies lobbied to receive stimulus funds to do exactly that.
But not Biden. My understanding is that the pandemic also caused a number of U.S refineries to shut down, and they can't be restarted overnight, if at all. The point is that Biden didn't roll into the White House and say "Let's raise the price of gas!"
