Cont: The Biden Presidency (3)

I find all this speculation pointing to Hunter, the Secret Service, or a Republican plant ridiculous. We know nothing about it except for:
1) It's cocaine,
2) It was found in an area where public and private tours are given and staffers commonly go, including during the time just before the baggie was found,
3) The Biden family, including Hunter, left the WH on Friday, June 30 and did not return until Tues., July 4th. The cocaine was found on Sunday, July 2.

Give it a rest, people.

From Zig's link:
In updating where the cocaine was found, officials said that area was also heavily trafficked.

The sources maintain that the area is highly trafficked, in keeping with Jean-Pierre's characterization Wednesday. The area is transited by VIPs, visitors, tourists, staff members, military officials and facilities operations employees.

"What I wanted to be very clear is that this is a heavily, heavily trafficked, heavily traveled, to be more accurate, area of the campus of the White House," Jean-Pierre told reporters Wednesday. "It is where visitors to the West Wing come through.”

The cocaine was found in an entrance area between the foyer and a lower-level lobby, the sources said. The entrance is near where some vehicles, like the vice president’s limo or SUV, park. It is one floor below the main West Wing offices and on the same floor as the Situation Room and a dining area.
News media makes more of a sensation than they do of accuracy. Oooo, it was closer ... to something.

Other than it is a different location from the earlier reports, I don't see anything that suggests Hunter Biden would have been anywhere near there either.

Most likely, some person who forgot they had it and ditched it before fear of being searched.

2nd most likely, an alt-right lone wolf thought it would be useful to put it wherever it was found. This could have been a Trump cultist who was employed or a visitor.

You got nothing, Zig, by the condescending remark about everyone but you using outdated info.

So... the coke is very very unlikely to be Hunter Biden's. Unless we are supposed to believe that family members of POTUS are screened at the same location as public tours of the WH.

As I understand it, the Bidens come and go through the east wing entrance. The Peruvian marching powder was found by the west wing entrance.

There is a West Wing visitor entrance and a West Wing Executive entrance, the offending powder is now said to have been found near the West Wing Executive entrance. In at least one news report: "The entrance that VP Harris uses."

It was steps away from the "Situation Room"

Contrary to some clever spin work here on the forum, the offending powder was first reported to have been found:

1. In the Library (that's East Wing)

Somehow later, the location changed to:

2. West Wing Visitor's entrance.

And now it has come to rest from its long White House tour to its final resting place in a cubby at the:

3. West Wing Executive entrance.

Yes that's three, count 'em three, different locations where the Cocaine was reportedly found.

Edited to add: The Cocaine has slowly but surely been moving toward the Situation Room which is under construction. This would seem to be the best place for it to be found if one wishes to drop blame on construction workers rather than anyone using the Library. I think that's where we're going on the 2023 Cocaine Grand Tour of the White House.

Is there any room in your analysis for the press to be reporting differing accounts because their sources are actually misinformed? If the idea that spin-masters are at work turning something politically damning (against Hunter, or otherwise) into something innocuous, you wouldn't expect multiple changes of story.

No, it isn't. That's where it was first reported that it was found. Even though your link is dated Jul 9, its sources (the AP and the NYT) are from July 5th. But the story changed on July 6th:

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/wh...rent-location-previously-reported-s-rcna92906

Let's start with this claim by you: "But the story changed on July 6th"

Nope, it changed on July 5th:

WASHINGTON, July 5 (Reuters) - Cocaine discovered in the White House on Sunday was found in a cubby hole in a West Wing entry area where visitors place electronics and other belongings before going on tours, a source familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.

STRIKE ONE!

Now, let's take a look at your reply to Skeptic Ginger about this:

That's... not where it was found.

Note that you're saying that it wasn't found in a place that was "somewhere tourists and other members of the public have access to" yet even your link says it was:
"In updating where the cocaine was found, officials said that area was also heavily trafficked."
"The sources maintain that the area is highly trafficked, in keeping with Jean-Pierre's characterization Wednesday. The area is transited by VIPs, visitors, tourists, staff members, military officials and facilities operations employees.

And

"These are both heavily trafficked areas by WH staffers, by members of the public that are having these private tours of the West Wing by these WH staffers."

STRIKE TWO!

Now, lets look at what my two sources said:

USA Today:
Secret Service agents found traces of the illegal narcotic while President Joe Biden was away at Camp David for a retreat, and later confirmed it was in the West Wing lobby where guests enter before taking private tours.

"]NYT:

"it was found near an area where guests are screened for security and leave their phones in small cubby holes."
Secret Service Investigating Who Brought Cocaine Into the White House
A baggie that was confirmed to contain cocaine was found in the guest lobby of the West Wing on Sunday evening, an agency spokesman said.

Guess where guests taking private tours enter? In the West Wing lobby on the ground floor where the cubbies are located. There are TWO West Wing lobbies, one on the Ground floor and the other on the first floor which is the FORMAL lobby.

Therefore, your claim that "That's ...not where it was found" is still wrong.

STRIKE THREE! YER OUT!

One wonders why your sources were still working with outdated information on the 9th.

They're in on the Secret Service coverup?

Anyone without severely impaired eyesight can see Hunter was off his face on July 4th on that balcony.

I suggest an emergency visit to your ophthalmologist if that's what you're seeing. But then again, when you get your info from crap sources like videomattpresents , it's no no wonder.

"Hunter Biden Strung Out On Truman Balcony During 4th of July Celebration"

It appears @JoeBiden son Hunter was doing something with his nose on the Truman Balcony in front of his family and the world can you guess what it was in the comment section below. Was he picking his nose what was it that was he was trying to be sneaky enough to do any clue?

Hunter is so obviously strung out. 45 seconds between blinks and he’s jumpy and weird the entire time.

What I find hilarious is instantly the cocaine must have belonged to Hunter Biden. Not that it isn't possible. But it being found in the Library doesn't make it any more likely it belonged to a member of the Biden family than if it was found in the West Wing. Never mind that Hunter doesn't live there. Doesn't even live within 3,000 miles of the White House.

The Library is not located in the East Wing. It is in the mansion. (On the East side of the mansion to be specific.) Sometimes the mansion is referred to as the residence. But the President and his family don't live on the first floor. The residence where the First Family live is actually the second and third floor.

The first floor has a lot of ceremonial rooms used for receptions etc. This is where the State Room, the Map Room, the East Room, the China Room, the Diplomatic Reception Room, the Vermeil room are located. Also there is doctor's office, an office for the White House curator, an office for the Secret Service, the chief usher's office, and the kitchen that is used to prepare meals for the First Family as well as larger functions including State dinners. The Library is on the first floor. It is steps away from the visitors foyer

Regular public tours of the White House usually include the ceremonial rooms. If you're ever in DC, I highly recommend taking the tour. Also special tours are made for members of Congress, the Senate and other VIPs.

While first family certainly has access to the Library on the first floor it is more like a lobby of a hotel to them than it is part of their home. Almost anyone could have left the cocaine in the Library. There are about a hundred permanent employees that work in the mansion alone. There are also many workers brought in to help with special events. Hundreds of visitors pass through the first floor almost every day.

So am I spinning the finding of Coke in the White House or is Chris and right wing?

And?

What part of my earlier post showing that was due to a garbled audio in which the first responders where referring to their "hazardous materials library" are you not understanding?

You do understand that reporters trying to get a story out ahead of everyone else commonly rush their fact checking, make assumptions, and get out misinformation, don't you? Happens all the time especially when things can be easily confused like the ground floor visitors entrance is the same as the Executive entrance.

And there it is...the conspiracy to cover for someone using the Library...which was erroneously reported as I already addressed due to a garbled audio. Sheesh. Why are so many right-wingers consumed with conspiracy theories?

Library location:

WHAT? White powder was being sent to politicians in three states. A baggie containing white powder, which could have been ricin or anthrax, was found at the WH and you think sending a hazmat team to collect it was the SS covering THEIR arse?

Unbelievable.

Which is handled and stored differently than coke, and in different quantities.

My point is that a Secret Service more loyal than the current one would have tried to be more discreet - as they have been for Trump, to the point of criminality.

I've been on this tour. The White House is a fascinating building. The mansion was entirely gutted during the Truman Administration. It was basically a shell and then remade with steel beams. Jackie Kennedy oversaw another renovation where they focused on returning the rooms to their original incarnation.

Even if the cocaine was found on the upper floors it easily could belong to someone else. But anywhere on the first floor it is a hundred times more likely the source wouldn’t be a member of the President's family.

Some talking points are childishly simplistic, just a word association between the target and one or two items that work as negatives. Someone said cocaine, and then the usual suspects yelped "Hunter Biden!" instinctively. If they'd found an unclaimed laptop, it would have been the same thing.

Exactly! Wouldn't want facts and reason to stop them from jumping to their biased opinions.
