Cont: The Biden Presidency (3)

I have a question.

Let's assume that the cocaine was Hunter's. Let's also assume that Hunter is a total druggie moron. Let's assume even further that on the 4th of July, he was off his tits on the balcony.

So what? Even if he is a total waste of oxygen scumbag, why does anyone care?

I don’t know why anyone would assume that. As I pointed out Hunter Biden doesn't live in the White House, DC or even on the East Coast. He lives in California. There is a part of me who might ask, was Hunter Biden in the White House around that time. But even considering that just serves the narrative of something silly.

Hundreds of people pass through the Mansion and the West Wing daily.
There seems to be some confusion as to where the cocaine was found. Either a well trafficked area in the West Wing or in the first floor library in the mansion. A lot of employees work in both. Both also have a lot of visitors. There are private tours of the West Wing when the President is not in the West Wing. There are also private tours of the Mansion. When I say private tours of either, I'm describing tours arranged by Senators and Congresspeople. There is a full time tour guide staff that give them. They also give public tours of the Mansion. The tours are limited to the first floor. I can't remember if the tour includes the Library, but it might have. Still you walk right by it on the public tour.

More than a hundred people work full time in the Mansion and that doesn't include Secret Service. This might sound like a lot. But one should keep in mind that the White House mansion is huge. I'm not sure if it still is, but it use to be considered the largest private residence in the United States. It has 6 levels and 132 rooms.

Hunter Biden admitted having a drug addiction problem years ago. And even if he still has one that doesn't make him a "scumbag." But your point is spot on. There isn't a good reason to care about Hunter Biden's drug issues.

ONE more time:

Initial reports Sunday night indicated the bag of cocaine was found in the White House library.

Those stemmed from a garbled audio recording of responding DC firefighters who mentioned “the library” in relation to the cocaine. However, the first responders were actually referring to a field test of the cocaine not testing positive against any substance in their hazardous materials “library,” according to freelance journalist Andrew Leyden, who first broke the story after noticing a Hazmat team at the executive mansion.

This claim by ChrisP that it keeps "changing location" implying some kind of shenanigans is just intentional BS.

Of course.

It almost doesn't matter where the coke was found on the White House grounds. Unless it was found in the private quarters of the first family the chances it belonged to a Biden is minuscule. But I doubt Chris cares about the facts.

Why would it matter that a protocol was followed or not?
They let a potentially lethal substance within the range of high-priority people under their protection.
If they fail to prevent that because of lacking protocols, then it's THEIR fault for not having protocols for that scenario.

The Service prides itself on constantly running scenarios against itself, with Agents playing the intruders etc., so that they don't have to learn from mistakes (because getting your principle killed is not an ideal learning experience), but to pre-empt any possible threat.

Why am I the only one here who thinks the SS needs closer scrutiny instead a pat on the back for overreacting to a threat they themselves failed to prevent?

This.

It doesn't matter what your Political views are. We can all agree that the Secret Service should not allow baggies of mysterious white powder in the same place that the President of the US resides. And they certainly should be able to get to the bottom of this incident.

Like the sand bag on the stage issue, someone at the Secret Service should be fired for allowing that to happen. They're not protecting the President. It doesn't matter if the President is a Democrat or Republican, he or she needs to be safeguarded 24/7.

The "claim" that the baggie of Cocaine has been reported by Media to have been found in three different areas of the White House is 100% correct, you already know this but you're in damage control mode for some reason.

I did more than imply that the cocaine has been moving closer to the Situation Room, I stated it plainly. As I said, the Situation Room is undergoing renovation and construction workers have been doing the work. Regarding conspiracy, if I were in charge of covering up Cocaine found in the White House, I'd have it found near the area where the construction workers could be blamed. Though that would have been the only location announced. We'll see what happens.

Yes, it was REPORTED but it was never IN the library. As SNOPES said:

Where Was the Cocaine Found?
We found social media posts that claimed the cocaine was found in various places around the White House, such as the above-displayed Facebook post that claimed it was found in an area where President Biden often worked. One popular rumor was that the drug was found in the White House library.

"They found cocaine in the White House Library???," a Twitter post said on July 4, 2023. "America is FINISHED."

We also found that rumor about the library on Reddit and TikTok.
The claim that the cocaine was found in the White House library was bolstered by initial reports stating the substance was found in a library, citing a dispatch call to D.C. Fire and EMS Services as evidence. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi told The New York Times that the dispatch call was incorrect.

So who was the first to report the 'library' story? The New York Post which said "“We have a yellow bar stating cocaine hydrochloride,” a DC firefighter stated in a radio communication at 8:49 p.m. Sunday.
“Bag it up and take it out,” the firefighter told the hazmat team."

It appears that other media simply picked it up and repeated the NY Post story without doing their own fact checking...which is a major source of false stories gaining traction. But the big question is: who heard that radio communication and reported it? Who has actually heard it to verify what it actually said? No one that I can find.

Instead of seeing it for what it is, you and other right-wing media insist on making it into part of a conspiracy/cover up. See Below:

Maybe. Depending on whether they find any forensic info on the baggie or see something in surveillance footage. But, somehow, i suspect that no matter what they say, there will be cries of "COVER UP" still emanating from the fanstasy factories. They never fail.

My, I think all those indictments in the works for Dear Leader is making somebody desperate to change the subject.

I'm not sure why anyone would need to cover anything up. I mean who would they be covering up for? The cocaine was found in an envelope about the size of a coin. It was reported to have been found near the West Executive entrance to the West Wing. This is on the ground floor of the West Wing. One floor down from the first floor.

The West Wing has four floors. It sort of is built on an incline so the first floor is ground level on one side but not on the other.

Yes the situation room is about a 100 steps away from this entrance. It is also about a 100 steps away from the Navy Mess Hall which serves White House employees. There also are miscellaneous offices on this floor including Secret Service, as well as the photo office. Just like many other areas of the White House complex probably at least 100 people pass through this area every day.

They are investigating the source by looking at security video and visitor logs. But given the small size of the baggie, there is a strong possibility the source will never be uncovered.

The highlighted: When you need there to be a cover up for....something...reasons...it's amazing how quickly you can invent one.

It makes you wonder. What is Chris thinking? You know he wouldn't care if this happened during the Trump administration. I also don't think he actually cares now. It is just something that is convenient to get all worked up over.

Pretty clear what CHris is up to: Get attetnion away from all the indictments coming down for Trump .

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Supports Biden’s Reelection Bid

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said Thursday that she will support
President Joe Biden’s reelection bid given the challengers he currently faces
in the primary.

Author Marianne Williamson and environmental lawyer and anti-vaccine
activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have launched campaigns for the 2024
Democratic presidential domination.

When asked on the “Pod Save America” podcast whether she would back
Biden, Ocasio-Cortez said, “I believe, given that field, yes.”

Two other members of “The Squad” – a group of progressive House
lawmakers, including Ocasio-Cortez – have also backed Biden’s reelection bid:
Reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and Greg Casar of Texas.

Big grin.

Alternatively, seizing on something, anything to reinforce preferred narratives and keep the conversation in Republican propaganda territory, even if the only thing actually going for some repeating claims like Hunter Biden + cocaine over and over and over is that it's useful for messing with unconscious biases and associations, even if it were to be found to be absurd and inane when actually scrutinized every single time (like other similar Republican efforts). There's lots of more useful uses of pretty much all our times, though, than wasting it on malicious and empty flights of fancy.

Cue the gnashing of teeth, the rending of garments, and the cries of woe from a certain section of the bleachers.

Not a surprise. For all the gnashing of teeth from moron centrist pundits and complaints about how the progressives are sabotaging the party, the actual record shows that people like Bernie or AOC and the rest are good team players. I don't think anyone credible thought anything else would happen. Lord knows they've been fighting tooth and claw to prevent these neoliberal ghouls from undermining Biden's more popular agenda items, with mixed results.

Only a fool would have thought that the progressive wing of the party was going to launch a serious challenge to their own party's incumbent.

Yes, but the Progressive strawmen are going to be very upset.

It's been quite a while since the party could even seriously be said to have a "progressive wing". Talking progressively and then falling in line with the corporatists' stranglehold on the things that actually matter isn't really being "progressive".
