The Biblical Realities of Hell

That makes it fair does it not?
A 50% chance either way.

Are you joking?!

We are trying to decide if your interpretation of the Bible is correct based on a prophesy of increased earthquakes. If the bet were to be "more this year than last year," then that would hold as little predictive value as saying the Bible says that the next time I flip this coin, it will be heads and once heads appears then you'll have to admit that there really is something to this Bible prophecy stuff.

Give us a serious prediction such as thirty percent more or fifty percent more. Without such a specific prediction your hypothesis will remain in the category of "not worthy of taking seriously."

No one here is trying to get you to believe in God.
I've spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out how to read this and not label you a liar. So far I am unsuccessful. Would you like to retract, modify, or clarify the statement? Can you explain it as it stands?

And I agree everything about God and spirituality has to be looked at too.

It has been looked at and it has been found wanting. The Bible holds no predictive value. There is nothing written in that book that was not known to ancient shepherds and priests. It is filled with unsubstantiated and bizarre claims. Jesus said that he would return so quickly that some of the people talking to him would be alive to witness His return. There are no 2000 year old Jews walking the Earth so Jesus was wrong. He is not coming back.

If this type of banter makes you angry maybe you shouldn't come in here.

Wow. Just wow.

I bow to your amazing irony powers. If I had a trophy, I would give it to you.

No one here is trying to get you to believe in God.

That is nice, but you seem to forget about my wife and why else would you try to talk to her.

And I am not arguing that science is a bad thing or that it doesn’t have a function to perform, good or bad.

Yes, thinking without a predetermine conclusion is good, but the religious forget that so often with their bible.

Because your repeating it like a broken record.

Gods have been looked to death for 10's of thousands of years, and it has been found that in the end they have no answers to any questions, and they all, even yours, will one day be gone. And has for angry, I guess you think that since you know so much about your so-called god without meeting it you can also see me and also know how I feel. You guys do love to use "the angry stuff" that we must be mad at this god of yours and that is why we say what we say about it. But what you forget about is that this so-called god of yours is always on the warpath, will according to you guys, and it shows itself not to be that loving and all knowing god you think it is. Also you think it is causing problems with the weather, earthquakes etc show that it isn’t, if it existed. It sure looks like the best this “all-knowing god” that you think exist can do is just act like any other spoiled childish brat. And you guys are like the beaten children of abusive parents, making excuses up for its behavior.

And that is science is your everything that you love about the world, the universe, everything that it brings so good for you...
I know there is more than this even S.H knows this when he says there are multiple universes; I believe that about science...string theory.
We could name three of those universes.

Three.......... where did you get that number, there is no number that we can give it, not knowing if there even is more than one.

You don't get what science is at all. Science only shows what the world is, it isn't making it what I want it to be. It is you that make the world into what you want it to be, not me.

And the multiple universe thing, it is still only an idea, and we know that that is all it is. Also "String Theory" isn't really a theory so far because it hasn't made predictions about the known universe that can be tested so far.

Also nothing can prove a theory is completely correct about anything, but anything tested within that theory may prove that theory wrong.

And before you misquote that, there is gravity, and there is a theory on it and even if that theory is wrong, there is still gravity.

Your idea of a god makes no real predictions, you guys only fill in the gaps with anything to make it work for you.

You forgot one, theory of Evolution.

No Rapture yet either, first an increase in disasters, like I said A slow withdrawal of protection.

Lets say unmistakably higher way past the 1% variance, with no doubt...

Well, I guess we've dropped the discussion of an increase in earthquakes.
I'll just keep an eye out for a slow increase in the number of earthquakes that is "unmistakably higher way past a 1%" increase.

You are a Ferengie, don't know if I spelled that right but you are like the fictitious character.
Natural disasters mean, more than one.
The only one we are leaving out is technical. :)

I'm confused. Are you trying to say that man-made disasters should not be counted as we tally up all natural disasters in the upcoming time frame or are you trying to say something else?

He is so inarticulate that it is anyone's guess.

There's something wrong with you.

The only ones we are leaving out is technological, scientific, and industrial.
Unless a natural one caused one of these above as in a reactor melt down or leakage.
If something like that just happens because of our failings it won't count.
Like some one forgot to flip a switch.

So, where is the god in this.

And remember, your god of the bible had to do a flood thing because his creations didn't go and/or do right.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — A tornado caused injuries and damage in this southern Massachusetts city on Wednesday afternoon and then raced east through other communities before finally weakening.
Video aired by WWLP-TV showed a debris-filled funnel roaring through the downtown Springfield area. It also showed vehicles overturned after the winds passed through and downed trees at Riverfront Park. Damaged buildings were also visible.

Not even that. If you assume that detection/reporting techniques are forever improving, the chances that there will be a greater number of *reported* earthquakes in 2012 is almost a dead cert :)
Yes, as I cited before the major earthquakes (that are detected without technology) are even all the way through the last 100 years. It is the reporting of minor earthquakes that is on the rise.

I would not have thought there was any joy in these figures even for the most ardent end-of-the-world wisher.

A tornado in Massachusetts? What are the odds of that happening? It must be the end of the world!

I can never tell. Is this post more joking or are you seriously claiming that these events are somehow evidence of God's existence?
