Technically I have been to see the Beatles, though as I was inside my mother at the time it probably counts more as "went to the gig". Paul McCartney at Glastonbury was one of the best shows I've seen there.
For my money, they Beatles wrote the book on how to write catchy pop songs, defined an entire era for a generation, and with George Martin pretty much invented the modern suite of recording studio gimmicks and tricks. They may not have been the best musicians in the world, or wrote the best songs ever, but as a band their influence on music and popular culture is immeasurably huge.
I used to spend time arguing with the Paul is dead crowd, and they are just as idiotic, stubborn and blind to what is staring them in the face as the moon hoax dullards.

My therapist tells me that I'm not crazy, I'm just disturbed.
