The All Purpose Jill Stein Thread

LOL, you really don't get it, do you? Why do you think Bernie ran as a Democrat? Do you think his 'movement' would have gotten off the ground if he had run as an Independent??

LOL, I get it just fine. Actually, I do think Sanders' movement would have gotten off the ground. And I think it would have had the same outcome, he couldn't beat Clinton for many reasons.

But if he didn't withdraw before the election, he'd have split the liberal vote resulting in a disaster.

I disagree. The only way he got any attention was by playing as a Democrat. Without his primary run he would have gotten the same press Jill Stein has--namely, nadda. It's the two-party system that ensures a two-person race.

Jill Stein is a nutjob (she is talking about wifi)

Well i don't know about 'nutjob' but yeah she comes off pretty poorly there. Although, its not too far removed from voicing concerns about cellphones--for which there are at least some legitimate concerns.

ETA: Tony, do you find anything particularly 'nutty' in the following wiki? Just curious...I aint an expert on the subject.

If you don't understand the basis of the scientific process, that reflects on an anti-science POV. I'm not sure how to make that any more clear.

The FDA does not make vaccine recommendations. Stein seems to think they do. If you are a physician, that doesn't say much for your knowledge of the science of vaccines.

You are really confused. Who or what "makes recommendations" has nothing to do with "scientific process". She's voicing her opinion. Point to an example where she is making a statement about science, or the scientific method. I'm still waiting...

Stein's VP choice: Ajamu Baraka. Excellent choice. I hope the shillaries will dig up a little "dirt" on him and show how "nutty" and "unelectable" he is, so that some black voters will realize how much Killary is not in their interest. :)

It's impossible for me to take Jill Stein seriously. She has never held a job in government. She is a 5 time loser and the moron mounted a crusade against vaccinations.

You might as well vote for Krusty the Clown or Sideshow Bill. Not only would they be better Presidents than Stein, I think they are polling higher.

There's no point. She's said a number of times that she supports vaccinations, but people laughably using the name "skeptic" have decided that she's really anti-vax after all.

The only thing she could say at this point to make the accusations stop are the words - and only these specific words - "I support Hillary Clinton for President."

Of course she's not anti-vaccine and neither is Jenny McCarthy, they both say so explicitly. Of course, the are both concerned with toxic things in the vaccines like mercury.

Jill Stein says We should be moving away from [computer]screens at all levels of education, not moving into them. and getting computers in the class room is a corporate ruse...and wifi is dangerous.

Lets not forget that the Green Party's platform in previous elections was to investigate 9/11 (I don't know if it still is) and some of its previous candidates were truthers.

Jill Stein, like Trump and Sanders, is an economic nationalist.

Jill Stein has also stated that there is evidence that when GMO's reach our digestive tract, they can affect our very DNA. and that we need a moratorium on GMOs until they are proven safe.

Another moronic crusade. Why not outlaw all hybridized plants? It's about the same thing.

Her wifi / corporate computer screen paranoia was a nice compliment to her vaccine / GMO paranoia. This type of knee-jerk leftist pablum is right up there with Donald Trump's right-wing nonsense that global warming is a Chinese conspiracy, in terms of the degree of crazy involved.

Eta - I too would like to know the Green Party stance on 9/11 "truth."

The only person confused here is you.

If you are a physician and don't know how and why the ACIP (Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices) makes vaccine recommendations in this country, and you think the FDA which regulates vaccine manufacturing makes said recommendations, you are ignorant. Ergo, Stein is ignorant.

You can call her opinion anything you want, the woman is ignorant when it comes to vaccine science.

See highlighted part stanfr. It relates to the point you keep missing about science ignorance.

A Google check finds they have had Truthers as candidates.

Stein's ignorance on vaccines.
"I think there’s no question that vaccines have been absolutely critical in ridding us of the scourge of many diseases — smallpox, polio, etc. So vaccines are an invaluable medication," Stein said. "Like any medication, they also should be — what shall we say? -- approved by a regulatory board that people can trust. And I think right now, that is the problem. That people do not trust a Food and Drug Administration, or even the CDC for that matter, where corporate influence and the pharmaceutical industry has a lot of influence."
Stein's warning about corporate influence in the vaccine approval process is often voiced by "anti-vaxxers." In reality, most members of the Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee work at academic or medical institutions, not drug companies. But for Stein, the fact that people saw corporate and lobbying influence running rampant meant that some skepticism was warranted.
I italicized Stein's words because the comment contradicting her grasp on the situation is the article's author, not Stein. I bolded the author's words pointing out Stein's ignorance.

Stein remains poorly informed about the difference between the "vaccine approval process" of manufacturers and vaccine recommendations which are the things the anti-vaxxers believe are made by corporate America, but which are made by public health officials and which are meticulously based on evidence.

Ergo, she has a knee-jerk response, dumping vaccine recommendations into her corporate CT basket.

I've read all the same statements you have, and I don't think it is as clear as you seem to think that she is claiming the FDA is responsible for the recommendations.
At any rate, even assuming you are correct and she is not aware of the recommendation process, I don't think that automatically makes her "anti-science", any more than it makes me "anti-science" for knowing nothing about the subject (although, granted, I would certainly learn about it if it were a big part of my political platform!)

Has Jill declared that her supporters should vote for Hillary yet?

Oh, no?

Well then she is still scum.

I just saw a Jill Stein ad (I'm watching Rachel Maddow).

That's one more ad than I've seen for Donald since the primaries.

Where did she get money to run ads?

I think that many of the DemExit people stopped donating to the Sanders campaign and started donating to the Stein campaign.
