Texas bans abortion.

Have you been reading the thread? Based on facts posted in this thread do you now also believe that some of the human bodies on Earth are actually two people or two lifeforms?

I believe a pregnant woman contains a separate lifeform inside her, if that is what you mean.

What does this have to do with abortion laws that DON'T REDUCE ABORTIONS?

I won't drop this.

The Texas law WILL NOT REDUCE ABORTIONS. This is a fact, it is not up for debate and you don't get to have another "opinion" that counters it.

Until you and yours acknowledge this, you are not having an honest debate.

You obviously didn't read what I wrote. If valued the potential human being over the mother, I would be for forcing the the mother to carry the baby to term even if it were known it would kill her. I'm not for that.

I'm not sure you're reading what you wrote.

the right of the fetus to live exceeds the right of the mother to do what she wants with her own body.

That's valuing the fetus over the woman. Why?

I was simply responding to someone that said the embryo or Zygote was actually part of the mother instead of a separate lifeform.

I am opposed to the new Texas law. I think I've said this repeated before.

"Why do you value a potential human over an actual human?"

"I don't. I just think a fetus has more rights"

"That is placing more value on a fetus over the woman."

"No it's not."

.. The Hell?

"Why do you value a potential human over an actual human?"

"I don't. I just think maybe, in some situations a fetus has more right to live than woman does to end a pregnancy that won't kill her"

"That is placing more value on a fetus over the woman."

"No it's not."

fixed.

Must be how "opinions" work.

I am not sure. But I don't think the solution is allowing everyone to sue anyone that had anything to do with an abortion.

Okay you can't just be "not sure" of every single fatal flaw in your argument.

You can't just go "That's my opinion" every time you are wrong.

You can't say one thing, then say something else that directly contradicts it and not address that.

um . . . no. It may have half her DNA, but not 100%. It also has half the father's.

Umm....yeah....that's why the word "part" is used. It is literally PART of the mother and PART of the father.

But any DNA expert would say it is not the same lifeform as the mother.

In other breaking news: water is wet.

You have half your mother's DNA yet you don't belong to her, you are a separate lifeform.

When I was in my mother's womb, yes...I did belong to her.

This brings me back to a point I made weeks ago. It would seem that with so much more responsibility after conception, we might naturally consider that the woman has a greater responsibility prior to conception. But I don't see anyone around here floating that notion; in fact, most seem to be totally against it.

Nonsense. I believe women and men should take precautions to prevent an unwanted pregnancy. But if you are suggesting that they simply shouldn't have sex because sex can cause pregnancy than I would suggest
  • You have never been a teenager
  • You have never been reckless
  • You can't get laid.
  • You are jealous and resentful of people that do have sex.
  • You have never been horny
  • You don't enjoy sex

You see sex is a healthy enjoyable activity.
You should try it sometime.
It just might make you empathize with people who do.

Nobody suggested that.

"Nobody is saying this, nobody is saying that."

Here's an idea. Stop being coy and just come out and say what you are saying.

How about we start here when it comes to abortion? Any idea of what we might do to fix this problem?
Most unintended pregnancies result from not using contraception or from not using it consistently or correctly.
https://www.cdc.gov/reproductivehealth/contraception/unintendedpregnancy/index.htm

What do you figure the solution is? Relaxing abortion laws further? Maybe a Pro-Choice march? Where should the main focus really be? Certainly anywhere but responsible behavior, right?

Nobody suggested that.

Why do you play this game? It is dishonest and beneath you. You said the following:

The highlighted section is the pertinent line. You are saying that the rest of us arguing for choice do not believe that women shouldn't act responsibly about sex before they conceive.

I've never seen a single post from a pro choice member saying they shouldn't. Not one. You posted a grotesquely unfair and dishonest post about these members. But if I'm mistaken about this please cite the post.

Women generally are very responsible about contraception. Substantially more than men. But some unwanted pregnancies happen despite their precautions.

And since you're still on your high and mighty hobby horse of responsibility, the only possible inference one could make is you're saying women should abstain from sex if they are to be responsible.

BTW: 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does is educate and provide contraception.
