Texas bans abortion.

All we have is a strong popular consensus, science, and the concept of medical choice and privacy.

What they have is a screwy electoral map.

So we lose.

Stop bringing that sort of truth into the thread. It’s ******* depressing.

You could replace twins with siblings and that would still match my experience.

In my experience, secretly switching out people with imposters leads to nothing but trouble. Sure, it's good for a few laughs in the short run, but ultimately it all turns to drama.

Haven't read the thread to the bottom so may be repeating, but this can go the other way too. Two separate embryos merging to become one individual.

You are absolutely correct & I should have brought up that particular confounder. Chimerism is what is called, IIRC. Again, this is a scenario where, if you hold the view that personhood begins at conception, you magically create two people in two fertilization events and at some point, either the two people disappear and a third person takes their place or somehow you have two people in one body (despite, the fact that as a developed human(s?) they would have absolutely no awareness of allegedly being "two people" —since the only reason someone with chimerism would ever find out that they are chimeric is if certain lab tests were performed and produced certain anomalous findings).

I know. But I want one of the "Bu muh opinion!" people to explain to my why if it's just a matter of opinion they automatically get their way.

I mean, if the point is futility, fine. But the answer has been pretty clear.

Because babies are being murdered.

That will always be the answer on this subject. It may meander a bit and use every shady rhetorical/propaganda tool possible, try to sound scientific, etc. but once you filter it that is what we are left with.

If I actually truly thought babies were being murdered I'd probably be unable to engage in rational discussion. Of course, same if I were convinced my cat was Hitler and needed to be stopped before it went back in time and took human form. Which is slightly less reasonable but far less destructive a belief... I mean, except to the cat.

Given the conservative love for embryos, their love of the death penalty, and willingness to try children as adults...

Would they be OK with aborting an embryo that absorbed a would-be sibling?

All twins are parasitic, but some are more parasitic than others.

Sometimes one twin will siphon off (so to speak) more of the nutrition and negatively affect the other resulting in slower development and birth weight.

A very rare condition can also occur where a woman actually conceives again when she's already pregnant (superfetation). This means she's carrying fetuses of different gestational development and due dates but they would end up being delivered at the same time. That means the younger fetus would be smaller and less developed.

It's not that far fetched:

Why do you value a potential human being over that of an actual human being?

I don't value the life of the fetus over that of the mother, I consider them equal. In most normal pregnancies, the choice is not between the life of the fetus and the life of the mother, it is a choice between the life of the fetus and the right of the woman to do what she wants with her own body. Two different kinds of choices. Get it right.

I think there maybe times when the right of the fetus to live exceeds the right of the mother to do what she wants with her own body.

Then you value a potential Human Being, over an actual Human being.

The embryo or zygote is not part of her. It is it's own separate lifeform. I believe DNA tests would show that.

It has half her DNA so it is literally part of her. It's true both before and after birth. We are all parts of our parents...literally.

Again more restrictive abortion laws don't reduce abortions. This is one of those facts. I'd like one of the anti-abortion people to be intellectually honest long enough to acknowledge that.

So none of this matters, it's all a red herring.

Nobody cares about your "opINioN" about the humanity rating of the widdle pitty baby fetuses because this law will not protect them.

um . . . no. It may have half her DNA, but not 100%. It also has half the father's. But any DNA expert would say it is not the same lifeform as the mother. You have half your mother's DNA yet you don't belong to her, you are a separate lifeform.

Have you been reading the thread? Based on facts posted in this thread do you now also believe that some of the human bodies on Earth are actually two people or two lifeforms?

You obviously didn't read what I wrote. If valued the potential human being over the mother, I would be for forcing the the mother to carry the baby to term even if it were known it would kill her. I'm not for that.
