Texas bans abortion.

Like most reasonable people, I don't endorse women using their wombs as a mobile death chamber in lieu of sexually responsible behavior. That is my preface, as someone who leans conservative, for the following:
Leans conservative? That's like saying Oklahoma leans conservative.

This Texas law is insane, imo. Firstly, 6 weeks...many women won't even know they are pregnant. No exceptions for rape or incest? Equally crazy.

Why? Is the baby somehow less a person if its conception is due to rape or incest? Is it less deserving of protection from being 'murdered'?

Somehow, I hope that in a semi-sane world, this legislation will not stand for long.

We finally agree on something. Miracles do happen.

In the case of rape, it is not a matter of an avoidable result. Incest, I am not certain, either, in some cases. I am sure that in many cases their might be an element of rape or molestation/grooming. And if not, the chance of birth defects alone should be within consideration.

That opens another can of worms now, doesn't it?

If women have to give birth, then the men responsible for the pregnancy should have to pay for it and pay for child support after the birth.

Yeah, this sort of thinking comes from the belief that women should be pure and chaste and keep their legs crossed for their future husbands because they are little more than the property of men, as are the children they will bear their owner.

I'd like to see his poll data supporting about this "most reasonable people believe" nonsense that he's asserting.

You didn't answer my question, but thanks for mansplaining that conception is not always an avoidable result.

The question was: Is the baby somehow less a person if its conception is due to rape or incest? Is it less deserving of protection from being 'murdered'?

As far as birth defects, it's OK to abort children who are not 'perfect'? That seems to be your argument.

Sounds like you are arguing a harder right position than I ascribe to. I know these aren't your beliefs, so I'm not going to debate these points.

Ah. I see. You refuse to answer the question posed. I'm glad I don't have to pay for all your tap shoes.

Could you answer the question posed?

So, basically, you won't give a direct answer to my simple question. I figured as much.

Angry and defensive...lol...ok. Just answer the question, if you can muster up the honesty to do so.

Avoiding the question, as most are. Too hard to give a simple, straight answer, I guess.

I've never seen you avoid a loaded question, so long as it favored your party, that is. Why hesitate now?

I'm still waiting for a direct answer, where you don't tap dance and juggle.

Yet another way to avoid answering the simple question.

Can we thus "cut to the chase"? So, what is your answer?

At this point, I would just be happy if more people gave a straight answer instead of telling me why they can't, before they then drop into a rant about Trump.

Were you considering answering the question posed?

I'm still waiting for you to answer the question posed.

Your post demonstrates both a weird false equivalency, and a very unhealthy obsession with post mining. I have stated a very direct opinion on the topic at hand. I won't be addressing you any further, in this thread.

I'm seeing a lot of young men and women suddenly taking extended vacations out of Texas in the near future.

Young women going "on holidays to see family interstate" and, entirely incidentally of course, getting a medical procedure they are being denied in TX.

Young good ol' boys men to avoid being responsible for and having to pay for support for the girl(s) they raped getting pregnant. And also to avoid criminal rape charges, but that's by-the-by, of course.

Give it time, women will have to be screened for pregnancy before leaving the state. ~~weird right wing fantasy~~
Oh your albedo is too dark, sure go ahead.

Does this mean you think such women should be denied legal abortions?

Even if shut down somehow, I predict that the "get rich if you snitch" provision of the bill will become popular in Red States.

Yeah, refusing to answer my question while repeatedly demanding others and I answer your question is a "weird false equivalency" in your book.

I won't be addressing you any further, in this thread.

Promise?
