The final solution to that particular problem was to mount up, barge into Germany, smash the camps, take over the country, and impose martial law on its people until they could be made fit once again for sovereign self-governance.

Well best wait a few years first. I mean wouldn't want to rush into anything. That's it. Any healthy young Syrian who would rather live in Sweden should apply for immigration in the usual way, with all the usual requirements and restrictions. Or they should apply to a refugee program that is aimed directly at getting them back to Syria sooner rather than later, and by the force of their own agency as much as practical.

As I predicted the alleged culprit is a 22-year-old whose temporary permit was coming to an end. He is an Afghan who came to Sweden as an unaccompanied minor asylum seeker. Under Swedish law he was entitled to stay whilst completing his studies. He had a permit, therefore, up to 2020. He was failing in his studies so was retaking something. So it looks as though his time in Sweden was almost up and that sent him over the edge.

The police have announced to the perpetrator of #Vetlanda that he attacked his seven victims with a knife. The police stopped him with a shot in the leg. According to press reports, the perpetrator is the 22-year-old Afghan Tamim S.

Tamim S. came to Sweden as an unaccompanied minor refugee in February 2016. He made two attempts to attend upper secondary school and took literacy courses. Since 2018 there has been a controversial law in Sweden that allows young Afghans
to extend your residence permit for the purpose of attending the upper school. Tamim S. also got a residence permit until 2020, but was unsuccessful as a student. He had applied for a new residence permit last year and was waiting for a decision.
The act will re-fuel the discussion about the so-called "Gymnasium Act" and its consequences in Sweden. It includes around 9,000 Afghan men who came to Sweden during the wave of refugees in 2015/16. For them is currently a permanent amnesty discussed

Police said the suspect attacked people with a knife in at least five different locations in Vetlanda. All males of varying ages up to 79. Three who were critically ill - one had been hacked on the shoulder - are now stable in hospital.

But don't you see, if this guy came to Sweden as a minor in 2016, he was only sixteen. During that time, he might have really wanted to stay in Sweden. He might have built up a circle of peers and friends, had a home and community and now he is being told he is not wanted in Sweden.

The point is, so may of these terrorists who go on a rampage of violence and terror on the public seem to have a common factor of having recently been denied asylum/residence.

Maybe, instead of coldly rejecting nine out of ten applicants, especially those who had been there over five years, as this guy had, immigration officials could arrange for mental health counselling to help with the trauma of being thrown out of a country and being sent to somewhere you no longer have roots in.

So naturally you lash out and kill people. Which you could have done just as well in Afghanistan, where you would at least have the moral distinction of fighting for your homeland, and at least a bare chance of thus making a difference for you and your countrymen. And if you ran things, what would you do? I get the feeling Vixen's solution is to send them back but give them a lot of counseling to cope with being sent back, which isn't going to help with the things you are talking about.
