That's funny, I didn't see Obama promise something in that clip.
Even the realistic prospect of dramatically increased production would dramatically reduce prices. Her followers might be so teabagish as to believe that fewer OSHA regulations will dramatically reduce prices.
That's funny, I didn't see Obama promise something in that clip.
$2 is totally doable. It exists in many countries. We would just need to sufficiently subsidize gasoline. How we would pay for these subsidies is the interesting question.
You mean 2 1/2 years ago, in the middle of a recession? That's what it took to bring $2 gas. Are you suggesting that such a situation would be beneficial to the average American? What is "laughable," "ill-conceived," "stupid" and "downright horrifying" about $2 gas like we had just 2 1/2 years ago?
What was worse 2 1/2 years ago? What was worse 3 years ago other than Bush?As I said, creating the conditions necessary to make her statement "truthful" might well make us worse off than does the current cost of gas.
Um... the recession? You do remember that, right? True, we (and the stock markets) ignored it until the crap hit the fan, but the seeds were planted in the seven-odd years before the chickens came home to roost. What was worse 2 1/2 years ago? What was worse 3 years ago other than Bush?
Was it worse then or now?The last time gas was under $2.00 a gallon was in the midst of a really bad recession.
When do you say it ended?Um... the recession? You do remember that, right?
How exactly do you suppose that dramatically increasing employment in oil production would make us worse off?As I said, creating the conditions necessary to make her statement "truthful" might well make us worse off than does the current cost of gas.
So Obama voters are such whackaloons that they believed he would perform the miracle of the loaves and fishes even without him promising anything, just because he looked pleasant and nicely dressed.
Economically there is no good news for 10 years back. There was some economic growth in the mid 2000's but that was all wiped out after the banking colapse. What was worse 2 1/2 years ago? What was worse 3 years ago other than Bush?
What are you talking about? She will decide for business owners what they should charge for gas? How dare she attempt to limit the profits of job-producing oil companies?
This is probably the dumbest thing she's said yet.
As a rational, thinking adult, I recognize that while I might want gas prices to be lower, the actual cost of making that price would be terrible. It would be an idiotic thing to attempt with disastrous results. I also recognize that it can't realistically be done by the President of the United States.
How exactly do you suppose that dramatically increasing employment in oil production would make us worse off?
It was $2.50 a little over a year ago.
Is that crazy too?
What was "terrible," "idiotic" and "disastrous" about that price 2 1/2 years ago?
