TAM6 Arrival Times

I arrive on wednesday at 10:10am from Dallas (it´s an international American Airlines flight)
I would be willing to split a cab with someone or just getting a shuttle bus with someone arriving around that time.

My schedule just changed and now I get into Las Vegas on Wednesday at 9:10 am, which means I won't be hitching a ride with Normal Dude. By the time my luggage and all gets in, it will be closer to 10:00 am. GUS, if you want to share a cab, I will probably be down in baggage claim wrestling with United, and I don't mind waiting around for a bit.

Hmm, I'm thinking I should book for Wednesday night. I was going to drive, but it looks like June isn't going to work out.

Cool, Is there anyone else getting in around that time that wants to join our super-skeptic ride to the Flamingo?

Desert highways like to be closed in hot weather, and as part of my drive includes Mojave, I want to leave early in the morning. The Google directions say it's a 4 1/2 hour drive, so I'm allowing six because I don't drive at the 70 MPH limit, it's a waste of gasoline. If I leave at sunrise I can be there for lunch, and avoid getting blockaded or overheated. :D

This will be my first drive through these areas. Any advice from the veterans?

If you have a cooler, bring water. Put a few bottles in the freezer overnight. That will help keep the other bottles cold and hours later as they thaw, you'll still have cool water to drink. Just in case your vehicle breaks down along the way.

Arriving Thursday afternoon from L.A. via Volvo. Leaving Sunday around checkout time the same way.

I can't remember how this was dealt with last year, but was there a thread where people posted their contact info, hotel room number and such, in addition to the times they were going to be in Vegas? Or did people just hang around the bar until they ran into the person/people they were looking for?

I want to be able to stay in contact with the people I do know, and make it easy for people to find me if they're looking for me.

They have summertime closures? Do you have a link or something that spells out when/where these take place? I'll be driving from the SF Bay area and would like to plan my departure time for that.

Whenever I've arrived for TAMs, I always head straight to the registration area and the bar. You'll always find someone at either location.
