I don't know what you mean by "worth it?" I won't be there so I don't think its a great idea going early. If you want to over shoot Vegas and spend a couple days in Monterey, CA then you can fly to Vegas with me on Wednesday. I think that is a better idea and I think more of you should consider it.

Monterey Bay Aquarium (part of Star Trek IV was filmed here)

Cannery Row (yes this is the place from John Steinbeck's book of the same name)

Big Sur (just down the road from Monterey, a must see! Views that will make your camera weep)

I actually live in Salinas, which is about 20 minutes away, but close enough for pizza every week.

The best part about visiting Monterey County in June is the weather! It will be a sharp contrast with Vegas, no one here uses air conditioning any time of the year. June in Monterey should be in the 65-75 degree range. I am going to die in Vegas!

This is nothing like Philadelphia (which I have been to).

I arrive in Las Vegas at 2 pm on Thursday. I was planning on taking a shuttle but if anyone is taxipooling or doing a airport/hotel run already at that time I would love to meet you and catch a ride (chipping in for gas of course).

Do you need another ferry? I'd ferry people regardless, but if you want the help in your team, let me know. :) My Blazer seats four, with baggage.

Also I heard a rumor that volunteers are needed for clean-up. Do they still need people?

My travel info is: I'm driving, Hutch permitting *wink wink*, from Bakersfield, CA. My schedule's pretty open, but at this time it stands that I will arrive in LV before noon on the 18th and depart the afternoon of the 22. If clean-up volunteers are still needed, then I'll stay until the job's done.

If anyone in Southern CA wants to meet in Bakersfield, or anywhere en route form Bakersfield to LV, and carpool, you're welcomed to do so. :)

ETA: I'm told they call it "ridesharing" now, not "carpooling". LOL

If anyone is changing flights at Meadow Fields Airport and would rather drive the rest of the way, I can pick you up and we'll go. The flight changes here aren't always timely. LOL Driving would be faster in some cases.
 
I will be arriving in Vegas at 5PM on the 17th, and leaving at 5PM on the 23rd. Both via Southwest Airlines.

Just a warning, if someone does this they may have trouble on their return trip. The TSA and the airlines don't like it when people don't complete their scheduled flights.

Depart: June 22nd, 3:05pm, American AA3106 (to LA)
 
I believe Mattus and Silly Green Monkey are comng in about then too. We can meet them at the lugage claim at 6 as well if things work out. The cab plan sounds good.
 
My husband will be coming to pick me up from the airport at six, he wouldn't mind packing a few more into the car. Don't think we'll be able to fit more than six people in the car though.

There weren't very many good options left for the departure, so I'll have to miss Sunday morning this time.
