I want to go, but my registration hinges on getting more information about the poker tournament. It's listed as an event, but there is no option to register or purchase entry. Is it sold out? Is it a register later kinda deal? Emails to [email protected] have not been answered.

It is a bit like the Bacon and Donut Party. It is not part of the JREF part of TAM, but part of the events around it. You register when you are there. I never heard that it was sold out last year, but someone else could confirm this.

I do move slightly faster than your average zombie. However I eat more food but fewer brains. The above average zombie might give me a run for my money.

I have a question and didnt know if it deserved it's own thread so i just decided to tack it onto here.

Attending my 2nd TAM, one of the lessons i learnt from last year is my phone eats up credit - due to my phone number and carrier being Australian, i know people last year purchased SIM cards to put in IPhone in order to be able to use data while in Vegas. Can someone give me some information about that and how i get one once i land in the US?

I am sure that there are other solutions but here is mine. There is a Canadian outfit called "Roam Mobility" were you can purchase a US carrier sim and then purchase packages of time or data. I used it at TAM last year, and in LA and Florida and every worked fine. I've check their website and they ship internationally.

Tim Farley (aka krelnik here on the forum) has written about how to stay connected while at TAM.

From my quick search I couldn't find a post from 2013, but here is his article from 2012. You may find it useful. (One thing that has changed since Tim wrote the article is that wi-fi is now included in the room rate, but in my experience unless you're very lucky you can only access it from your room, not from the conference center.)

Thanks all, i will read Tim's article. I know we have the free wifi, however last year i found the wifi signal didnt reach the conference centre itself. So i will look at the sim.
