Tam / Tom London Reccy

I've removed the NWO kitty... I figured that the map should contain places that actually exist, and and I didn't want people visiting Stonecutter street to try and find the Illuminati HQ :-)

I managed to get my animated avatar on the google map! If I achieve nothing else today, I will still feel as if this has been the most productive day so far this year :)

They got to you, didn't they?

OK, since I still can't figure out how to edit the map, here are a few favourite pubs from the area (and a bit further afield) to add to the Blackfriar:

I'll check on the opening hours at some point - pubs in the City area may not open for all the available hours at weekends.

I've included a couple that are a bit further away - the Wenlock for the beer fans, and the Lord Clyde because it is a classic little back-street local.

Anyone who is into art deco/1930s style stuff should take a walk into Fleet Street and have a look at the entrance lobby of the old Daily Express building (across the street from the Old Bell).

I seem to have set a dangerous precedent, in adding map entries for other people.

From now on, the minimum requirement for a credible recommendation is the ability to add your own map entry :-)

Well any of those pubs round Westminster would be great with me as I've never been to London. If it's close to a Tube stop then it's better for me.

Who wants to meet on the 18th? It's only 12 days away!

Isn't that a bit early? Planning to get a good seat? :-)

I'll be about..

I'm new to all this London stuff ... I'll be at London Bridge (next to the Dungeons :decool:) during the day (from 31st Aug) ... is that anywhere near this lot?

Whatever you do, don't post about how a good time you all have, or I will hate you even more.

About 20 min by foot (it's a nice walk if you go through Borough market and over the bouncing bridge),

OK, for those who have had problems editing the map.... you need to have a google account. You can create a new gmail account, or use an existing log in.

Once you've logged in, then you can edit the map.

If you want to create your own pin, save the image as a 32x32 pixel png, and save with a transparent background, and make it available on a web site. You can give the image to me if you have nowhere to host it.
