TAM 9 Wishlist

Oh, since we're wish-listing: I'll just keep crossing my fingers for Ann Druyan.

I haven't been to a TAM but hope to so I shouldn't jump in, but this would just add to the pressure of me attending! Her and Neil deGrasse Tyson.

"Actual food" is what lunch is for. Breaks are for cookies and chips.

This diabetic begs to differ.

My only complaint (minor), for about the 5th TAM in a row, is that not everyone drinks coffee in the morning.

It should be pointed out that what was in those urns was not coffee but a peculiar brown colored substance that many institutions (and my mother) like to call coffee. I know this is largely outside of TAM's control, but oh, how I wish we could be served real coffee in the mornings.

As does this one. The second lunch was something of a disappointment because they took away the fruit option for dessert. While I avoid grapes, I do eat all manner of berries. The first lunch I made myself a nice lil fruit salad while all my fellow diners ate the pies. I was quite happy.

Actually, I'm a bit surprised that at a gathering with so much general medical knowledge, that the food provided isn't a little better balanced. It's tastey, mind you, but I have problems at time finding things that I allow myself to eat.

Actually, I'd like to request fewer sugary snacks and more healthy ones during the break. Would a vegetable platter or two been too much to ask? Or cold cuts and cheese?

You know, actual food?

To each her/his own, I guess -- I was thrilled to have an excuse to snack on delicious cookies all afternoon.

Since Bill Nye has been mentioned several times (and comes up every year when a list like this gets going) --- I have vague memories that JREF approached him once and he wanted a LOT of money for an appearance.

Here's my wishlist: A line-up without a single speaker who has ever spoken at TAM before.
