• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

TAM 9 Wishlist

Don't forget "Awful Green Things From Outer Space" and "They've Invaded Pleasantville". :)
I did hear that there's a chance that Munchkin &/or Munchkin Cthulhu could make an appearance next year. They both could fit into an Ed Wood Themed gathering.

TAM 8 attendee James Sellers coined the perfect name for TAM9:

TAM 9 From Outer Space
Yes, perfect - all sorts of t-shirt possibilities!

Dr. Neil Degrasse/Astrophysicist
Mike Rowe/Dirty Jobs
Penn & Teller (I missed their presence this time)

I loved the forum name tags. (Thanks, Kochanski!!) If only the name part was, oh, 600 times bigger so I could read them as people walked by! If you saw a blond female wearing glasses staring intently at your chests, that was me, and I really was looking at your name tag.

Next year, if they could be the size of billboards, that would help me a lot. :)

And here I thought you were into middle aged overweight guys. :p

Yeah, I felt a bit self-conscience a couple of times when, after staring at a woman's badge, I felt her eyes upon me. I swear, it's the badge!

The name tags or the chests?

In addition to the suggestions above, Terry Pratchett as speaker (if his health allows)

More First TAM-er buttons. It was really fun discovering other firsties by accident but knowing would have been nice as well.

Wishlist, eh? Great, now my first post is going to be nothing more than whining...

  • More time for lunch. We were all pretty pressed for time.
  • Some poster tubes made available to those of us who buy things like signed copies of Ben Radford's Playing Gods posters.
  • A keynote that's actually a speech. I mean, Dawkins was awesome, but quizzing him on science fiction for an hour rather than having him address the horde was a little disappointing.
  • I wish we had power outlets and reasonably priced wifi, but I think we all coped pretty well.
  • P&T, obviously

Michio Kaku would be great. A return visit from Carolyn Porco too.

I would also like to see Gene Kranz
