Tam 8

I'm SO excited! This will be my first TAM. I was on TAA5 with my hubby and we loved every minute of the time we spent with the group.

Se you there!

Gah!! Are you coming to TAM anyway? Do you need to share a room?
Room costs are the least of it, not really a dent.

At the moment, the flight is ~$700, which is absolutely ridiculous.

I'm not saying I won't be there until it becomes clear that I won't be there...

If HNL=>LAX comes up cheap, I may fly into LA and bum a ride to Las Vegas, though.

HBS, if you can make it, would you like to be in my talent show bit if we make the cut? If so, I will PM you the idea and needs, though it's just a costume and ringing one bell when I point to you!
I would SO love to be a ding-a-ling!

I'd assume that keeping it uneaten throughout the travel would be the bigger problem.
Well, yeah, there would be that...

Yay! Another TAA5 first-timer! We were thinking we'd be fine with the cruise, but it made us want to come to TAM more! We finally broke down and registered a few days ago. It'll be good seeing you again!

It seems I was unclear with the intention of posting the link. My bad.

I will not feel as the person having to deal with mouth-breathing gomers, a but as the mouth-breathing gomer himself. Only with self-realization.

I don't see the Thursday evening reception on the schedule. Has it been bumped from TAM8? Does anyone here know?

I got my last set of hand bells, so I have what I need! And, I have 12 volunteers for ringers, so I'm a happy camper! :)

I asked Jeff and he confirmed that there will be a reception Thursday night as usual.

Okay cool. I have miles saved up and the awards depend on flight times. So know I can go ahead and book. Turns out if I stay until Monday, I can fly for free. Now I have to check the hotel for Sunday night rates. But I think I will come out ahead staying the extra night, or at the very least, not lose any money in the deal. And I won't have to race to the airport after the event.

Last year, the Sunday night until Monday morning drinking session was the most fun!

I would NOT want to repeat what I did last time: Go from the hotel bar to the airport at 5 AM; wake up for stopover in Minneapolis with a nasty hangover...

Because of a change in their performance schedule that will take them out of the country, Penn and Teller will not be performing their show at the Rio during the dates of The Amazing Meeting, as originally announced. As a result, the JREF will be refunding the purchase price of the discounted tickets for everyone who registered for the show and/or bus service to it.

Penn and Teller have always been very generous to the JREF, every year offering discounted tickets to their acclaimed show for TAM attendees. While they won't be in town during all of the conference this year, they will be attending the first day of TAM, Thursday, July 8th, and we have a special event planned with them, which we will announce next week.

Thanks for posting this, Chris H. I just got the refund notice in my e-mail and am naturally disappointed. I've never seen P&T's show, and was excited to change that. Oh well, I guess I just have to come back next year.

Anyone have other ideas of what to do Sunday night?

Thanks from me too, Chris. I agree, it's a big shame, though at least they'll be at TAM and doing something extra. I was planning to go to the show, so I'll have to look for something else for that night.
