TAM 5.5 Forum Party

2. Chocolate – The good news is that I both live and work near stores that sell really gooooood stuff!!! I'm not going to specify. I want to keep it a surprise. But, the bad news: Everyone else, and their dogs, will be bringing in chocolate, as well. So, it would hardly qualify as "unconventional thinking".

There is no such thing as too much chocolate.

Who's drink was she spiking? And was Rich in on it too, since he's standing with the camera pointed straight at her, and not bothering to film the deed...

In fact, I was spiking my own drink. Sometimes I like to surprise myself.

:D

I asked Travis about it, and he said you were demonstrating how to multi-task.

And overflowed the glass a bit. Never waste vodka!

That's marriage material right there. rebecca's the Nora Charles of skeptics.

What is the hotel policy on alcohol & music at the pool? How about some games, music, and Washignton apple shots?

I must be getting old. Pool parties in 65-70 F weather don't sound tempting.

I agree. But, I am not prone to just do whatever everyone else does. I wanna bring my own unique contributions to the party!
Everyone is bringing the chocolate. I wanna bring... the unconventional!!

No, seriously, though: If ya'll want me to chip in some "standard" sodas and chips, and maybe a hummus dip or two, I am willing to do that, too!

And, maybe I'll toss in a chocolate bar or two as a bonus.

I did look into the option of having the party at the pool. They won't let us bring our own alcohol; we have to get it from the hotel bar. Plus, I think they close down around midnight at the latest.

Okay, that means that we will either have to move it to some adjoining rooms after midnight (volunteers?) or bring our beverages in a clandestine fashion.

Okay people, the room has been booked! As soon as we get the room number on Saturday, we'll pass it around. Make sure you stay informed by asking others, particularly Ottle or me.

I'm not clear on what you're talking about here. Maybe you misunderstand -- the pool party is a JREF function that ends at 9pm. At 9pm, the Skepchick-sponsored forum party will begin in the Holiday Inn Express immediately next door to the Plantation Hotel.

As HBS pointed out to me, how exciting is it that I get to go to a party at a Holiday Inn Express!?!

ETA: Oh man oh man oh man!!!

Oh... I wasn't clear. I though that people were going to just stay out by the pool afterwards. I am actually staying at the Holiday Inn (didn't book the nights in time). Is there a pool there? Where is the skepchick party to be held?

Thanks!

Kirk, somehow I'm quite sure the skepchick party won't let you not find it....
