Suddenly, A Flat Earther Appears!

Yep. That was simply a booboo. A voluminous booboo, but a booboo nevertheless. Could be intentional, but BasqueArch does not do that as a rule. Likely, the mods should edit, but probably not intentional.

Oh, I know it was just a glitch; I was just teasing. Looked like the encoded data itself wound up in the URL.

Also, I fully accept BasqueArch's chemtrails explanation. Me, I usually blame the voices in my head.

Globe Map: The circumference of the earth is ~24,901 miles. The shortest distance from Santiago, Chile to Sydney, Australia is due West on the Southern Hemisphere. 7058 miles

To fly from Santiago to Sydney nonstop takes 16.5 hours. 7058 m. / 16.5 h. = 428 mph.

Are you sure that the shortest path is due west? Doesn't seem like a great circle to me.

Project Loon is a network of balloons traveling on the edge of space, designed to connect people in rural and remote areas, help fill coverage gaps, and bring people back online after disasters."

And how is this on topic?

While an interesting idea, those balloons support cellular telephone service operating in the UHF band. Satellite TV signals are transmitted from the transponders in C or Ku band. Balloons still can't explain the operation of satellite TV antennae, which have to be precisely oriented on a fixed point in order to receive transmissions. Balloons can work with UHF networks because it doesn't matter if they move around to a certain degree, which is why your cell phone works as you walk about town. But to work for microwave networks like Satellite TV, the balloon would need some way to remain stationary, or the antennae would need to articulate and track the balloon.

Ironically: ► He refuses to support his assertions. :boggled:

Supporting your ASSERTIONS with more of your own ASSERTIONS and with copy/pasta from your own previously posted ASSERTIONS is not providing EVIDENCE for your argument.

Oh, and you still haven't answered the following questions using EVIDENCE to support your answers. DO NOT attempt to support them with your own BARE ASSERTIONS or with copy/pasta of your own posts from this and other sites and forums

1. What prevents atmosphere from spilling over the sides of your flat earth
2. What creates the earth's time zones
3. Why does the Sun not vanish to a point if it doesn't set.
4. What causes the air density gradient.
5. How does your "electric dipole" keep objects on the Earth's surface.

Your appeals are child-like and your position pummeled so may times I've lost count.

I propose we add to this as he avoids them. Those people who have unanswered major points, quote and tag them on maybe?

There was this great post:

http://www.internationalskeptics.com/forums/showpost.php?p=11377032&postcount=664

6. In the Northern Hemisphere the Sun appears to travel clockwise (i.e when the sun is at its highest, at local noon, it is due South). In the Southern Hemisphere outside the Tropics and Antarctic Circle, the Sun appears to travel anticlockwise, so at local noon, the Sun is due North. Explain this.

Then this other slamdunk post that got totally ignored:

7. From here, why doesn't the angular diameter of the Sun follow expectations?

8. From that same post, why can we not see more of the Moon than we currently provably do?

9. Why do the lunar phases appear inverted in the Southern hemisphere?

10. What causes a lunar eclipse!

11. Why do the stars rotate in different directions by hemisphere?

....and yet again, you dodge the questions put to you. Its is clear to everyone here that you are avoiding answering these AND providing evidence other than your own UNSUPPORTED ASSERTIONS to support your answers

So, I will ask the questions again (and add eerok's suggestions)

It's not a great circle. The map is a parallel lines 2D projection of a 3D tapering globe. The longitude globe lines actually converge at the South pole. The straight flight path follows the curved surface of the globe and appears curved itself.

There are fewer longitude lines to the west vs. east to Sydney, therefore shortest path across the Pacific. Other web sites confirm the distance.
This grid is parallel 2D, the flight paths 3D projected onto the 2D.

This is a more accurate map than the FE of the world :
http://www.imaginaryatlas.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/ny.jpg

The surface area of N America is much larger than S America, not like the FE map that has it reversed. The Flat earth plate- UN map is a foreshortened map with the wrong surface areas. You can see the continents out of scale distortions. Funny that the distorted Flat E maps have globe-based unequal circular latitude lines and splayed longitudes.

Will he stick the flounce this time? Of course not. For him, it is an ego exercise.

It matters not a whit how bizarre the claim is. Attention is the priority. Actually staying away would starve that. Thus the three sequential flounces with promises never to return (I wish). This third flounce is no more than an attempt to ignore the pending questions yet again.
