Caveat: I personally cannot Empirically Validate "The Firmament".
No kidding.
Maybe we could ask someone flying over Antarctica to check it out for us. http://www.antarcticaflights.com.au/

gibberish removed
I can't be arsed to trawl back through this, but I'm guessing Daniel hasn't covered his change of position in the past few months from considering Flat Earthism ridiculous to becoming a "serious" cheerleader for it.
Actually, in the space business we use materials that have the right combination of reflecting and emitting at the right wavelengths.
Have you heard of Quantum Mechanics, by chance??
No kidding.

Why don't you have to focus on the "balloons"?Well they probably have to focus in on the Balloons.![]()
Why should I? I already know what they use it for.email 'nasa' and ask them why they gobble up metric tons of helium??![]()
You do not have regard for anything or anyone.regards
Don't think they'll see much 'flying over' the coast.

You still haven't explained sunset, Daniel. How far away is the sun at sunset, would you say? Just approximately.
Well, that ain't going to work. There is no arguing with an inability to comprehend 3D spatial reasoning. This inability is far more common than one might think. While it may seem self evident to you or I, and while either of us could demonstrate it using simple math or even simpler diagrams, there do exist those who can't understand it.You still haven't explained sunset, Daniel. When the sun's directly overhead in, say, Ecuador, it's setting on the horizon in Cameroon about 6,000 miles away. How about that figure? Any objection to that?
And you claimed the sun is 2,500 miles above the earth. So viewed from Yaounde or Kinshasa, the sun passing directly over Quito ought to be a little over 6,000 miles West and 2,500 miles up, putting it over 20° above the horizon for those observers in Africa.
Well I've seen the sunset, and in the real world it doesn't pop out of existence from 20° up in the sky.
Busted.
flat earther chemtrails messing with my mind.BasqueArch, if you're going to post a map of Earth, next time please don't post it in 1:1 scale!![]()
Yep. That was simply a booboo. A voluminous booboo, but a booboo nevertheless. Could be intentional, but BasqueArch does not do that as a rule. Likely, the mods should edit, but probably not intentional.BasqueArch, if you're going to post a map of Earth, next time please don't post it in 1:1 scale!![]()
