It's worse than that. He thinks that there is an active conspiracy among the scientific community to deceive us all. Wow...

Between this and his comments on the Fed chairman being "treasonous", I think the GOP/Tea Party has a real winner on its hands. Unfortunately, if he wins the presidency, we all end up losing.

I'm quietly hopeful that his statements will in fact hurt him. If not in the primaries, at least in the general election. If he keeps on at this rate, well . . . I think we're going to have a lot to work with. He's only been in the race for a week and already he's said several incredibly stupid things. Like at least one every day.

When the polls start coming in and they show that general election voters don't like Perry (and why would they like him any better than they like Palin?) that may hurt him in the primary too.

Yes, very interesting analysis. I think the GOP will make a real mistake if they back Perry for the general election. That said, if the economy takes another nosedive, then enough people could actually be upset enough that they actually elect Perry - which would scare the Bejeezus out of me. Just take a look at the Seven ways Rick Perry wants to change the Constitution :boggled:

As a member of the scientific community I have to ask, where the hell is all of this money he is speaking of, and how do I get it to start "rolling in"?

Since you're not commenting on the thread topic, can I safely assume ;) that you share the opinion of the other posters here who, being grounded in reality, think that Perry is an anti-science CTist? (aka a complete wingnut)
