These things occupied or performed in the northern and north western sky, at about 30-40 degrees. We were looking due north, from the ground in a place called "Fob Bottom" on the Red River in Cooke County Texas.

If the horizon is about 3 miles away, I say they were a fraction of that.

All that I can say is that they didn't seem 'distant'.

I admit that the situation I just proposed could result in what I saw...

But they seemed to traverse about 1/4 to 1/8 of the sky in 2-3 seconds...

The whole point of this derail highlights the problem with your OP. You have determined what you believe is a "higher level of evolution" based on your subjective values. This does not necessarily have any basis in reality, just in what you consider to be good or true. Similarly, you are subjectively determining what can be considered evidence (much less good or poor evidence) which may or may not have a basis in reality.

Evolution is a process, not a goal. Eyewitness accounts are observations, not facts in and of themselves.

I think I saw two non-human craft, head toward each other, combine to form a HUGE version of themselves.

I 'could' have been witnessing two regular planes playing chicken, who at the last possible second both pull out and vector towards me, with their landing lights on, before turning back to the point of origin.

I was conceding that this 'could' have been what I saw, but that it isn't any more likely than u.f.o.'s performing the same stunts.
