Should the U.S. leave South Korea?

Also Bikerdruid guy prolly isn't a terrorist but more like a terrorist sympathizer guy. Hopefully if terrorist approached him and said I have secret super plan to rule the world he would be smart enough to see through the BS and not drink terror koolaid.

But if terrorist said it had shrooms in it then he might would, but hopefully not.

that's pretty funny stuff, right there.:D

We should probably have never been involved there in the first place.
You are sixty years too late with that one.
North Korea as a state is inferior. The North Korean government, economy and general HDI are inferior. North Korean people are not.
The North Korean people are ... hungry?

I like the idea of someone in the South Korean government doing an Aquino and politely advising the US that their presence is no longer required. Within a year or so, without the volcano, the US departs, turning all the bases over to the South Koreans.

How soon? Not sure.

I will give my not so humble opinion and facts on these Asian matters in no particular order (been heavily interested since a kid)

Ok history does repeat it self it is not a cliche but a fact of life.

1. In event of all out war China WILL back N.Korea especially against counterparts that support "entities" of a non-Asian region

2. The French, or Spain, nor anyone else held the USA's hand after our revolution from tyranny S.Korea should be allowed to stand on their own.

3.China is mad at Japan and Russia over stupid lil island with oil under it

4.China is mad at USA and Russia over arms sales to various countries and "entities" within the Asian region

5.China is mad USA because USA plans to send over LEET carrier force with super awesome stealth drone attack jets that look like mini-me B-2 bombers that are going to be operating around Tawain

6.China and (Phillipines?) are mad at each other over rights to a particular body of water (sea) in the region

7.N.Korea is controlled by super crazy man that thinks he and his son are living gods and they h8t everyone except China (N.Korea and China been having super cozy relationship meetings as of l8t and giving each other courtesy wraparounds)

8.Russia is now officially "King of the North" because they take North pole and no one even cares or most possibly no one wants to fight them right now.

9.Russia's birth rate is really gonna suck in the future so if they were ever gonna do anything it will be sooner than l8r

10.West is tied up in a bunch of wars right now and we are getting really really broke and need more robots, bombs, and boots on the ground really, really fast if we gonna win this shyt and get all the LEET Loot PVP style

11.China is now mad at USA more because we talk to Dhali Llama and China is selfish and wants all the Llamas for themselves cuz they super greedy

12.USA owes China tons and tons of money n loot and the Chinese repo man prolly not gonna be nice guy when he finally comes around

SO BASICALLY. We in a bit of a pooperswaggle but it's ok because it is supposed to happen this way.

Go S.Korea! Kick N.Korea's evil butts and hopefully most of the brainwashed N.Koreans see the truth but I doubt it.

Ok peace out; thats my opinion/facts!

Nailed it FTW right!?

We would fight China over South Korea? God I hope not.

For the most part the US military presence is almost gone anyways. They keep some administrative units there for the 2nd division but only one combat brigade and some artillery units. The rest of the 2nd division is in Alaska and Washington state.

????
The disposition of USFK (and USARAK) must have changed since I left work yesterday afternoon. There is none of the 2ID in Alaska. The manuever Brigades in Alaska are aligned with the 25ID (Hawaii) - although they've never been anywhere but Alaska and were formerly the 6ID. While JBL-M has the bulk of the 2ID manuever Brigades, none of the units flagged as 2ID in JBL-M were ever in Korea. They were always at Lewis, but wore a different patch and had different equipment.

There are 3 combat Brigades of 2ID in Korea, as is the full division staff and headquarters. It isn't a token force by any means - and numbers the same apx 30,000 troops it has for quite some time. We averaged 40K troops in SK during the 80's, 35K during the 90's, and 29K since then. We currently have 28.5K present.

Personally I think keeping some essential equipment prepositioned near some defended airbases is probably all that's really necessary to help them easily win a war. Sealift and air assets could bring in reinforcements if needed.

All the demonstrating by average Korean citizens aside, the goverment of SK has no desire for us to leave. They oppose even short-term deployments by 2ID Soldiers to Iraq/Afghanistan.

And of course, we perceive that we benefit from having 30K troops stationed in SK - the real reason we are still there.

The U.S. should pull out of everywhere, starting with Iraq and Afghanistan. A bankrupt country riven by partisan politics, unable even to agree to finance itself, has no business bleeding itself dry trying to police the monkeyball.

The monkeyball will just have to muddle along as best it can from here on out.

We did it before. Why not do it again?

We fought the Germans for the sake of the French, twice.

Hey just implement the draft and I will gladly kick some PLA ass just like my grandfather did. I had azthma when I was younger (grew out of it and excelled at varsity sports and worked on drilling rigs for years with no problems) so they won't take me unless there is a draft.

DRAFT! DRAFT! DRAFT!

LOL We gettin closer to the default. That means no debt payments for China if we do. (I don't care either way really)
