Should Illegal Immigrants get Welfare

How do you find them? What due process do you give to make sure you're not deporting a citizen? Where do you hold them? How long do you hold them? How do you physically transport them to their home countries? What healht care do you give them while you're holding them? How long do you hold minors? What do you do if the home country doesn't want them? What do you do if the home country uses physical force to keep them from returning? How much money is too much to spend per illegal alien? If your plan is unworkable, how is it still valid?

lol

Really?
You don't think the government is dealing with those issues now?

Never mind, lets just have open borders.

I suppose government will have to figure it out.

I suppose government will have to figure it out.

I suppose government will have to figure it out.

I suppose government will have to figure it out.

I'm back.

No ideas of your own on these points? Do you want the Dems to do all the heavy lifting on these issues? You don't seem too happy with their ideas so far. At minimum they will contribute to the ideas that, together with the Reps, are implemented as law.

You keep dodging

Do I have to explain the legal details of deporting illegals?

This isnt' an argument against deportation

Trust me our government with its millions of employees can handle deporting these people

Well, if you want to switch over to that topic, fine. You're still wrong.

Public schools are funded mainly through property taxes. If your illegal immigrant owns property, he or she is paying the property tax. But - and this is important - if the illegal immigrant is renting, he/she is still paying property tax. It's figured into the rent set by the landlord.

So, once again, what injustice is occurring because the person is illegal rather than just a regular, non-wealthy citizen?

ETA: And what social good is delivered in the long-run by educating the children of illegal immigrants? Will they become more or less of an economic burden in adulthood if educated as children?

They fit 25 to a house.

I'm back.
I'm delighted.

You're free to answer his questions.

I've never seen dems do any heavy lifting, unless that lifting involves enriching themselves with power and money.

You don't seem too happy with their ideas so far.

Their ideas do not have the best interest of the country.

As I see it, the government doesn't do wholesale deportations, either now or under Republican administrations, for many of the very reasons cited in Loss Leaders post. I suspect that they don't know the answers to all of Loss Leaders questions. I certainly don't. So yes, please explain the details. I think that is what is being asked, and if you have practical solutions, it might help the government implement your policies.

I'm delighted.

I am delighted too- it was a good dinner.

No I don't have practical answers, which I already explained. I am asking the people who want to change the current situation how we should do so.

If the Dems are so idea-poor and bad for the country, we can't trust them to figure all this out. Yet there they are, in positions of power. So then what are your ideas? Feel free to paraphrase any Republican's public answers to the specific questions that have been raised here; practical logical solutions are valuable whether or not they have been proposed before..

Not as good as mine, I raise my own beef.

Agreed

lol
Albeit much less power. ;)

The repubs don't have any ideas, but they will eventually come around to the one I posted.

Then you can go reread them. :)

Mine was fish, a typical liberal meal instead of an all American beef steak. But at least it wasn't tofu or brown rice.

In all of this back and forth, I appear to have missed your specific solutions to these "details." My fault, of course. Care to give some post numbers to help?

Can I put you in the open borders camp?

I'd put myself in an almost-open borders camp. It'd be a good idea to track who is passing through the borders, so immigrants can be issued with ID that is recognised within the country they're moving to, to catch criminals trying to escape the authorities by crossing the border, to contain occasional outbreaks of of deadly infectious disease, ect.

I'd put myself in an almost-open borders camp.

See, I know you liberals pretty well don't I. Have you ever thought what would happen to this country with open borders?

Do you understand what happens when people come here for just the money and not to assimilate into the American lifestyle. It is a very special privilege to come here and become a citizen.

This is proof liberals are idiots
This is proof that you have no idea what the word "proof" means.

Exon pays 35% in federal and state taxes
Hardly.
  • Exxon pays a lower tax rate than the average American. Between 2008-2010, Exxon Mobil registered an average 17.6 percent federal effective corporate tax rate, while the average American paid a higher rate of 20.4 percent
  • The company paid no taxes to the U.S. federal government in 2009, despite 45.2 billion record profits. It paid $15 billion in taxes, but none in federal income tax.
  • The oil giant uses offshore subsidiaries in the Caribbean to avoid paying taxes in the United States.

How does this equate with Exonn. We have the highest corporate tax rate in the world.
Hardly. By the way, the name of the company is ExxonMobile, not your messed up versions.
U.S. companies face the highest official corporate tax rate in the world. But there's a big difference between the rates set out by law and the cash that's actually collected.

Large, profitable U.S. corporations paid an average effective federal tax rate of 12.6% in 2010, the Government Accountability Office said Monday.

The federal corporate tax rate stands at 35%, and jumps to 39.2% when state rates are taken into account. But thanks to things like tax credits, exemptions and offshore tax havens, the actual tax burden of American companies is much lower.

In a report commissioned by Senators Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and Tom Coburn (R.-Okla.), the GAO looked at taxes paid by profitable U.S. corporations with at least $10 million in assets.

Even when foreign, state and local taxes were taken into account, the companies paid only 16.9% of their worldwide income in taxes in 2010.

Enact a 9%/9%/9% flat tax on income/sales/corporate
I know where you got the 9/9/9 nonsense. Speaking of losing and whining ....

Their presence here lowers the price of all manner of goods and services. How much lower is it than if all those jobs paid appropriately? How much lower is it than if we had to lure mainstream workers into what used to be marginal work?
I remember a study done by the University of California that tried to address the question of how much prices are actually lowered. IIRC, one example was that the price of a head of lettuce would go up 5-10 cents if migrant labor was paid the legal prevailing wage - not much, in reality. The other point made which I found pertinent yet usually not mentioned is that using cheap, illegal, foreign labor has a strong disincentive to engage in R&D to lower crop maintenance and harvesting technologies.

See, I know you liberals pretty well don't I.

Given that earlier I said this:
I think they should just get rid of the illegal immigrants altogether...

...by making them legal. Automatic citizenship for anyone who wants to live in the country.

I'm not that impressed you managed to guess that I'm in favour of removing barriers to immigration.

Have you ever thought what would happen to this country with open borders?

Over time, population would increase a couple of percent.

Do you understand what happens when people come here for just the money and not to assimilate into the American lifestyle.

Yes, you get multiculturalism.

You're not the only one who missed it. Logger, care to link to the posts with your solutions?
