I have long advocated that wanting a gun should disqualify you from getting one in the same way that wanting to be a leader should disqualify you from being a leader.

Bolding mine. Very naive in my opinion. If there is leadership required and no one is willing to step forward, then things may go to hell in a hand basket mighty quick. Certain situations need aggressive and willing leaders. Think about that next time you see a building on fire, money being raised for a worthwhile charity or a legislator pushing for an important bill to be passed.
