Venezuela recently had an air force show and one of the planes crashed. Then the rescue helicopter crashed. Officers are promoted according to party loyalty and belief in that "Bolivarian Revolution" crap. Incompetence is the result. Chavez better pray he never has to fight a war.

Well, given his recent health troubles, he's probably praying he will get a chance to do so. I would in his place, incompetent military or not.

Well, appointing party hacks loyal to The Supreme leader to miliatary command posts over professional soldiers really worked great for Stalin back in June, 1941......
