"SEND HER BACK!" Will they defend this?

It's a post on instagram. It's not directed to anyone specifically, and the likes it has gotten certainly don't come specifically from family. And if he isn't the uncle, then would have to be directed to Ilhan's brothers and sisters anyways (which it wasn't), not his own, because he isn't the father. Everyone agrees on that point.
OK. So he directed the comment to her brother(s) and/or sister(s).

Meanwhile, Omar's potential GOP challenger has legal complications of her own.

Pro-Trump Republican aiming to unseat Ilhan Omar charged with felony theft

Stella is accused of stealing 279 items valued at $2,327.97 from a Target store in Edina, to the south-west of Minneapolis, on 8 January this year. She was arrested for the alleged theft after security staff called the police.

...

Police and court records said a warrant was put out for Stella’s re-arrest for alleged contempt of court on 4 April, after she failed to show up for a court hearing.

Officers in nearby Bloomington then arrested Stella on 28 April after she was allegedly seen by security staff at a Cub Foods grocery store stealing a bottle of tick spray for cats, and placing other items “under her purse so that they could not be seen”.

When they checked her identification, police officers discovered the open warrant for Stella’s arrest over her failure to appear in court for the earlier alleged shoplifting, their incident report said.

She's apparently using the "I have PTSD" defense. Also some Q-anon stuff.

This is all a giant "whataboutheremails."

Why should we spend any more time on this than we should on that garbage global warming paper?

If a site is unreliable, it's up to it to demonstrate the veracity of any story it runs. It's not up to me to check beyond seeing how rubbish it is.

A factual search reveals multiple instances of failed fact checks by IFCN fact checkers.

Do ‘Liberals’ at the University of Texas Want to Designate Masculinity a Mental Illness? – FALSE

Between 2008 and 2014, “criminal aliens accounted for 38 percent of all murder convictions in the five states of California, Texas, Arizona, Florida and New York.” – FALSE

“During his first presidential campaign in 2008, Mr. Obama used a secret back channel to Tehran to assure the mullahs that he was a friend of the Islamic Republic, and that they would be very happy with his policies.” – FALSE

Clinton Sent Ambassador Stevens to Benghazi to Retrieve Stinger Missiles – UNPROVEN!

No, 96% of Google news stories on Trump aren’t from left-wing outlets – FALSE

Overall, we rate PJ Media to be borderline Questionable based on numerous failed fact checks, however they do fall just below the threshold and are therefore rated Right Biased and Mixed for factual reporting. (7/92016) Updated (D. Van Zandt 8/29/2018)

Actual facts? Conservatives won't be happy.

You responded to a taunt with a taunt? ironic

There was a reason for mine. I was repeatedly asked to switch to the democrat side of the isle, and no matter how I tried to explain that I do not get along with liberals any better than I get along with racists and neolibs, they were just incapable of understanding this strange paradigm. I despise both fairly equally. Unless I explain it in schoolyard terminology and taunts, they just were not getting the fact that while I may not be a racist and while I may have devoted the rest of my life to conservationism, my core beliefs are very very very different than the liberal dominated Democrat party platform. This also is displayed in the approaches to policy I would take, so it's not just a minor personality issue.

I am a Teddy Roosevelt style conservationist, not some silly GreenPeace commie treehugger environmentalist. I have literally NO respect for the latter (that includes AOC) as I strongly believe they do far more harm than good. Their only redeeming value is some of them actually care for the environment (probably not AOC) and are saddened when their naive attempts fail horribly.

What was the reason for your taunt?
That one is easy. If I don't know what the hell I am talking about, I shut the **** up and listen instead. So all those times you did not see me reply? It's because I was trying to learn rather than teach. But if I see some comment blatantly incorrect , silly, or misleading about a subject I actually do know about, then I reply. So yes. if someone else derails a topic and it wanders into my knowledge base, and if it seems to invite comment, I most certainly will.

Fine, you despise both; nevertheless, it still seems strange to me that you would persist in trying to fight and change back the Republican party. Honestly, regarding climate change (and I strongly suspect multiple other things), fighting to shift the Democratic Party to move closer to your ideals is probably a much more winnable battle at this point. I'm simply thinking in terms of practicality.

Ever consider that?

Sometimes principles come into conflict with each other.

If your party doesn't support your ideals, which do you choose?

And this devious little 9 year old plotted all this deception herself!?

Why would you think that's required? It isn't. The only step in there which requires her to make an active decision on her own is marrying Elmi. When she was 9, of course the decisions would have been made by the adults involved.

Is it, though?

Instagram posts can get deleted, so I don't think it's there anymore. Could it have been faked? In principle, yes.

Was it faked? Oddly enough, nobody involved has actually claimed that any of the posts referred to were faked. Also oddly enough, Ilhan won't even tell reporters who her family members actually are.

Even if it wasn't faked, you do realize (don't you?) that not every reference to a niece, nephew, aunt, uncle, brother, sister, or cousin is made according to its proper familial definition. If you want to prove in court persons x and y are brothers based on the fact that person x said "My brother!" to person y---you'll be laughed out of court, son.

So, they weren't willing to defend the chant, but they're willing to go to extreme lengths to make up a story about why Rep. Omar should in fact be sent back.

:D:D:D

It is also conceivable that "niece" is an awkward translation from another language, expressing something akin to avuncular affection.

Not going to bother with this speculation, though, unless and until someone links to something verifiable.

Nailed, it, but I suspect the highlighted will be superseded - although my mind is boggling at how.

To be fair, I rarely bother listening to Dolt 45's brainless rants, it's entirely possible that he's said things I'd consider more stupid than this triple-layer racism. I just wouldn't know :D .

(The three layers - the "ignorant savage" layer, the "go back to Africa" layer, and the "Only white people are truly American" layer.)

Where I'm from the word for niece, nephew, and first cousin once-removed is the same.

I don't think it's particularly racist to tell an illegal immigrant to go back to their country of origin.
But don't forget that he told that to four members of congress, of whom only one is an immigrant.

I am a little busy tonight so not reading all the thread at once, but I am continually surprised (though I suppose I should not be really) at the stretches Trump supporters make to justify his statements. Even if Omar's immigration were illegal, which I'm betting it wasn't, Trump's public posturing here would be not only ridiculously boorish and stupid, but anti-American, as well as constitutionally ignorant.

Even if you think Trump is God's instrument of Supreme Court salvation and goodness, I think his public conduct has been a disgrace.
